Firesweep Bow+
Firesweep Weapons
Overview
One of the most popular build choices in the game, Firesweep weapons are notorious for their ability to prevent the enemy from counterattacking. This combined with their relatively high power compared to other standard weapons make them among the strongest choices for offensive units, alongside brave weapons and blade tomes. Firesweep Weapons also remove the need for Desperation, opening up the valuable skill slot B to other powerful options. While these weapons are not without a downside, they are effective and easy to use.
Synergy
Firesweep weapons prevent the enemy from counterattacking, but also prevent the user from doing so. They are a poor choice on units with other skills and abilities based around receiving attacks. Rather, they are purely offensive. High speed is also important, as a follow-up attack will only double the damage scored for free. Life and Death is a great partner, boosting offensive stats by five. The downside of Life and Death is usually never an issue, as enemies cannot counterattack onto the lowered defenses. Hit and Run is a great choice for melee Firesweep users, especially flier types. A flier with a Firesweep weapon and Hit and Run can attack, and retreat back over impassable terrain, essentially scoring free damage with no retaliation. Brash Assault does not work with Firesweep weapons.
Weaknesses
The natural borne weakness of Firesweep weapons is their inability to counter-attack when targeted by an enemy. However, as the focus of the units who wield them is nearly always offensive, this downside often has little real impact. Users of these weapons are by nature hard to handle, with the best way being to eliminate them with your own powerful attackers. Tanks with Triangle Adept and weapon advantage will take little to no damage and threaten a counter-attack the following turn. Steady Breath is a skill that can be effective against these weapons, by granting defensive benefits and turning their attacks into a charged special for your unit.
