Zelgius IV

Hi there,

I've managed to pull two Zelgii recently, both of whom are +Atk. One has -HP, the other has -SPD. The build I plan to use on him is the following;

Alondite
Rally Spd/Def
Black Luna
Atk/Res Bond 3
Bold Fighter 3
Res Tactic 3
QR 3 Seal

He is supposed to be a dual phase monster. Paired with Fae and hopefully the new Grima, he will have acceptable mobility and his weaknesses will be covered. On Player phase, he ORKO's 97% of the roster, and that's without merges (I will manage a few). On enemy phase, he still ORKO's more then 80%. Atk/Res Bond really helps with this part.

The question is, go with -Spd or -HP? I was very confident that -Hp was the superior bane, but it compromises his Panic Ploy usage (although he most likely won't be running it as shown above) as well as give him a slightly worse matchup on both phases. Speed just appears less relevant when you guarantuee doubles on both phases.

Does he really prevent many relevant doubles at neutral speed?

With neutral speed, I think that he would avoid doubles from speedy dragon builds, but not much else. I would go with the speed bane one with that skill set, bold fighter and QR will probably be enough.

I use a -HP, +ATK Zelgius, and I can verify the speed very much helps with avoiding getting doubled. You don't need Panic Ploy if you're using him in an armor team, with which you can use Ward Armor. If not, any Tactic skill would be great.
