Your Favorite Fire Emblem Game?
I know this is unrelated, but seriously, what is your favorite FE game. Personally, I love FE7. I love it even with its flaws. Then again, I haven’t played every Fire Emblem game yet.

Probably a tie between 7 and 8.
Especially because of the characters, but the gameplay is pretty solid.
7 has probably the best main cast of character, especially Hector and Eliwood, but a lot of plot relevant characters are pretty great too like Ninian, Nino, Jaffar and Pent.
8's lords are good, but slightly below the blazing sword trio. But a lot of the side character are amazing (Cormag, Duessel, Gerik, L'Arachel ect) and 8 has probably the best villains, Valter, Caellach and especially Lyon.
As for gameplay, 7 is a pretty fun difficult game (ignoring Lyn mode) and 8 is quite a bit too easy. But 8's pretty fun to casually play and the multiple class options makes replaying great.

YES!!
FE7 is my favourite too. I love that they have perma death - good main heroes - GREAT side characters (Personally LOVE Fiora, Athos, Priscilla, Rath). I found that by promoting Priscilla to Troubadour made her SO overpowered and even in hard mode it was a bit of breeze.
Side Question!
Is Rath in FEH? When is he gonna be?
Also!! How bloody great would it be to see Athos as a new hero. The Archsage would dominate!!

My first wish for FE 7 characters would be Pent and Louise, not just because they're awesome (especially Pent) but also because there are already so many related characters in heroes (Hawkeye, Klein and Clarine)
Rath would be nice too, but I'm kinda afraid he'd just be a generic variant of Brave Lyn.
Athos would be a great chance to add an armored mage to the pool. Maybe as blue mage with a light tome, released together with a Nergal GHB (who's needs to be an armored red mage)

Yeah I thought perhaps that would be the case with Rath. I was hoping he comes in his Nomadic Trooper garb, using a specialised blade with built in Distant Counter & Bushido in B-Slot.
Agreed re: Louise n Pent. Maybe introduced first up in a bound hero battle. Then in a summoning event.
Armoured Blue Archsage would be a dream.
Aureola as the tome too.

Of the ones I've played, Awakening. It was my first, and I love the story and the characters. Fates had better gameplay and Echoes was just more generally polished, and I enjoyed the half of SS I played before my Wii U crapped out, but nothing has taken the place Awakening holds in my heart.

Shadows of Valentia is my favorite game because it is the most immersive one for me. The maps are a bit hit-and-miss for me, but everything else about the game was done so well--the story, cast, soundtrack, and voice acting--that it far eclipses the gameplay inconveniences in my opinion.
Runner-up is Fates: Conquest for great soundtrack and amazing challenge. It is one of the few games that focuses more on increasing difficulty through skills and environmental changes over an insane stat inflation, and I think that the game is at its best when played on the Lunatic difficulty.

Fire Emblem IV: Genealogy
A dart plot dealing with subjects such as incest and child genocide, with a twist equal to some of gaming's best (I put it right up their with FFVI!)
Characters with great depth, with vallains such as Arvis and Travant showing character development you struggle to find in gaming today.
The birth of many of Fire Emblem's core mechanics. Any fan has this title to thank for the games we have today, including supports and second generation units!
Giant maps. The map size bothers a lot of people, its very polarizing. But not only did it help to not only feel very different from other entries, it made strategy far more important. You had to plan ahead.
I could go all day praising this game. Can't wait for that Echoes treatment! /pipedream

Either 7 or 8. 7 was the first I played back on the GBA when it came out in '03. It was unlike anything I had played before and the thought of perma-death was a truly terrifying concept. 8 took what I loved from 7 and expanded upon it, especially the branching paths, replayable maps, branching promotions, and most impotantly: the "novice" class (or whatever it was called). Ross, Amelia and Ewan. I loved those 3 and changed them up each time, although my favorite class for each will always be berserker, general and summoner, repectively.

Radiant dawn/sacred stones are tied for my favorite games.
my first time playing was sacred stones when I was a child and then a few years later found radiant dawn on wii u and really enjoyed the different classes. Overall, the story was really fun and i enjoyed playing through it.

I'm tied between FE7 and Shadows of Valentia. Both excellent games.
But I have only played a few... I'm working my way through awakening right now and I have no idea which one I'll play next. It depends on a lot of factors (like how long it takes to finish awakening). If FE16 comes out before I finish, that will disrupt my order a little. And when my brother gets back from Japan in six months I'm dropping everything to run through Tellius series with him.

1. Path of Radiance - first one I played
2. Sacred Stones - allows for perhaps the greatest creativity/investment before the 3DS games.
3. Blazing Sword - Classic original game in the west, with great character development. Played through it several times, but I'm just now finally trying Hector Hard mode. The game really does feel like a home base when heading back to it again.

FE 9. It has its flaws, but as a whole it did gameplay, music, story and characters the best of the series.
As a runner-up, prolly Fates, specifically Conquest. Ignoring the story, its among my favorites in the series. The music of Fates is fantastic across all three paths, Conquest's gameplay felt like real FE gameplay, and the characters are really interesting, although some more than others take some digging into to really know who they are.
