Wrath + noontime on Fir

Suppose she goes +atk -HP and swift sparrow, i.e. Ayra-ish strategy but with less burst damage.

With wrath active, she hits like a galeforcer with 69 atk, which is pretty hard. Some stuff dies in one hit.

This wouldn't even be that bad with DC. 65 damage in one hit will kill squishy ranged units (-9 vs blues, so 56, which still kills a lot of them).

She should be able to heal minimum, like, 9HP per hit if her opponent is at full HP, so if we add that to her def it's like she has 33+ def. Or if she's willing to hit a little less hard (which isn't a bad idea in this build because, like a shield pulse build, despite the damage mechanisms it's actually a sort of tank build that just doesn't want to be all tank and no retaliation) then +def -HP because it's a superboon. She'll heal maybe 1-2 points less, so it's somewhat like she has 35-ish def.

Why don't people do this?

I used to run a stupid build on my Nephenee (on my character page) based on this idea (Wrath + Sol). It worked wonders and helped me out early game since she could sponge so many hits; even from some Hectors. Thought I was a genius when I would use that build until I found out about Steady Breath + Aether being a much more better option.

Other than going off on a tangent, I don't see why Fir couldn't abuse it too.

That does seem to work...if we split the +20 on the aether between her two hits then with +atk it's like she reaches 55 atk and adds a luna. Damage is equal to on this build when enemy has 40 def; if they don't then she probably wins anyways just by hitting twice. But the heal is almost all on an aether+20 and she doesn't hit very hard on her first reply. 32/31 defenses if she goes +def instead of +atk. Hmm. Probably requires QR because 36 isn't that fast without additional investment... definitely a reasonable approach, but I don't want my QR seal tied up that way.

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused without seeing an image or two on what you really mean. It doesn't help the case when I have to imagine things like "well this character has 40 def when you factor opponent debuffs).

Is it something like this?

Along those lines. But probably uses quickened pulse or has a pulse support, and I'd probably get someone like Felicia to ploy for her. 31 is a bit thin for these ploys for my liking unless merging to+10.

Fir is another character I run into, similiar to my Nephenee dilemma. People even recognise, "well she's really fast"...and that's not entirely the case when you have to invest into other stats like Def/Res so she can do her job significantly with stuff like Breaths/DC.

The main issues with her spd are that she probably doesn't use a boon IV, the ploy is hit and miss without +7 or fury (which is an absolute no on this build), and she can't receive flier buffs like Caeda and Clair who share her statline.

If she's going to have some tankiness, I think what I propose works well with merges. Swift sparrow gives her extra damage and spd. 34-35 res is generally enough for spd ploy, and the extra def and res will will get the support of a little more HP.

The disadvantage is that she doesn't hit that hard without her special and she can only spam it on player phase and wrath needs to be active. Probably won't be an issue with def in the 20s and healing 30% on 30-35 damage.
