Would it work if i Fuse them?

I recently gotten a pity-break 5-star Neutral IV Merric and i was wondering if i should merge him with my +6 4-star Merric and would i be able to weapon refine Excalibur into Dark Excalibur if i choose to do it or should i save my 5 5-star Merric for something Else?

If you did merge him into the 4* version, your 4* Merric would go to +7 on top of being able to refine Excalibur.

I say do it. Merric isn’t useful for much else at 5*.
