Worth promoting?

I have a 4* Effie (level 40, with +1 merge) who still has an unfinished Brave Lance set, and is lagging SP-wise. I'm thinking of promoting her to a 5* so I can get some SP from leveling up.

She's +atk -def. Will it be worth it or should I wait for a better IV spread?

wait for +Atk -Spd, then promote.
the +1 4* will mean nothing anyways once you promote but if you used skill inheritance i would still merge them to keep the skills
unless you are desperate for a blue armored unit, there is no reason not to wait (especially when summer corrin and summer robin will be coming back "soon")

During my (unsuccessful so far) attempts to get Micaiah, got two +HP -res Effies, one of them a free summon. Little better defensewise. Will merge into one of them, since -def is really going to hurt.

Well, in hindsight, merging her as a 4* probably wasn’t the best move. But in all seriousness, I’d say promote her, and grind away. Then when you get a better IV (+ATK-SPD) merge them and you’ll have an optimal IV with a merge in place.
