After playing FEH since launch I still have 0 +10 units (closest is +3 Ryoma and BK). I have about 700k feathers and I just could never decide on who to spend them on. So I'm looking for ideas on who to merge. I'm looking at Soleil Ares and Nowi atm.
What about you guys? What are some good +10 merge projects that dont involve pulling a bunch of 5 stars.
I'd say go for whichever character you like best. I don't have any +10s yet, but I'm slowly working on Frederick and Shigure, and I'm planning to do Kaze as well (all available to pull as 4-stars). This is purely because I like them as characters. So pick ones that make you happy.
(I really wish I could +10 some of the seasonal units, because a lot of my favorites are seasonals, but the most I'm ever able to get is +1 or +2 because I'm not a whale.)
Even a +10 5-star exclusive is more likely than a +10 seasonal, since theoretically you could pull one any time as opposed to seasonals, which you only have even that very small chance to pull even once or twice a year. :-( I spent over $300 on the Hoshidan Summer banner and I still didn't get a single Xander (I was desperate to get him and Ryoma, and at least I got Ryoma). I still really want him. It makes me sad that I'll have to wait until he shows up on a Legendary banner or wait until if/when the Hoshidan Summer banner comes around again. When even getting one copy (to say nothing of one with good IVs) of a seasonal is that hard, I can only figure the people who manage to +10 them are super-whales.
I got pity broken so many times on that banner. 2 Sumias, a Mist, some other random females I didn't care about. Not even any decent pity breakers. :-( I really wish they'd stop with this RNG gambling nonsense and just let us straight buy the units we want. I would spend so much more money if they did--because I'd not only be able to get the ones I want, I'd be able to +10 them.
Make a merge project on a character you like and care about.
And for the topic questions, nada and zilch. Merges are generally a very low priority for me, as I perfer variety. I had Berkut as one, but I stopped working on it as I can't seem to get Distant Counter fodder.

If you're looking for cheap units to +10 Cherche is great choice. Her new weapon makes her a deadly player phase unit, and she's pretty cheap to build as you can get Death Blow 3 from 4* Klein or if you don't have him, Hawkeye as a reserve if you're willing to spend a little more feathers on him to get it.
Already have only one 5*+10 (Soren) and will soon have a 4*+10 (Abel).
As for future +10s, L'Arachel, Silas (he's gonna demote once the Fates banner expires, no doubts about it), and Eirika are my potential candidates for 5*+10. For 4*+10's, Est is getting close, as is Cherche, Marth, Serra, and Tailtiu. Also, since Silvia was demoted, maybe she's a consideration; not sure if I should go for 4 or 5* as a base.
I have a Hana, Nino, and Effie fully maxed out. Nowi and Fae are both +8, but I haven't been able to pull more copies in months. In the back, I have enough copies to +8 A!Tiki, +7 Marth and Lukas, and +4 Catria and Priscilla, but won't be doing so until (at least) I finish the other two.
Anyway, as who you might want to 5-Star, you should just pick favorites and go from there. Any unit in the common 3- / 4-Star or 4- / 5-Star pools is going to be amazing if can you figure out what builds would best bring out his/her potential.
If you don't have any particular favorites: Invest in Armor (Effie, Sheena, Draug, Gwendolyn), Dragons (Nowi, Fae, A!Tiki), or Green Infantry / Red Fliers (Soren, Caeda, etc.) if you happen to pull the new A-Skills to score better in the Arena; otherwise, Ranged Cavalry units like Reinhardt and Cecilia (or really, and Ranged unit with access to Brave Bow+ or -Blade Tomes) are helpful for easier completion of in-game content.
Yea i know if i was serious about arena merging the 3 dragons and the common armors is the way to go. But that just seems boring to me since idc as much about being high tier arena.
Looks like youll have your core and then some built up soon. Way to go. Nice thing about merge projects is you get excited to see them during pulls, almost as much as a new 5 star.
None yet, but I'm simultaneously working on Marth, Nowi and Raven. Each is +6 and I already have enough copies for Raven to get to +10.
After them, probably 3 flyers. Likely Camilla, Caeda and Shigure. Maybe Fae, A Tiki and Lukas, too. Plenty of heroes I like, it just depends on getting copies and feathers. I'd love to save orbs for Tana when she eventually gets a refine and becomes a focus, but who knows when that would happen. And I'm terrible at saving orbs (especially when I need more copies for my initial merge projects).
As of right now my only +10 units are F.Corrin and Setsuna, I'm trying to think of a solid Mage unit to +10 which will probs be Lilina, for an armored unit I'm going Sheena since I already have her fully built the way I want her to be, for both Lilina and Sheena I already have enough of them to +10 them all I need are the feathers
I too have been playing since launch and have 0 +10's I have a lot of +1's and a +7 Ayra. At first i used my feathers to up heroes i didn't have and now I use them to up people for fodder. I've recently started merging some units. A +4 Soleil and Raven. But I foresee a while longer still till my first +10
If you don't care about arena, then anyone in the 3-4* pool can work. Especially now that they're going back and giving personal weapons to old units.
I personally have Tiki, Nowi, Soren, and Shigure at +10 and while I was working on Lucius, I decided to start on Draug for arena (both are +4 atm.) For the future I'm thinking about Marth, M. Corrin, and Titania. Love me some supports, even before the arena changes.
