Mine is rather tough... but even though I do think I like other characters more than these guys, their main character status puts more emphasis on them, so they come out on top. The list is Eliwood, Sigurd, and Seliph. If asked on the spot, I would say Eliwood, but the more I think about it, I think Sigurd wins. I loved Genealogy, and although the characters didn't really get to show their personalities that well, I could fill in the gaps with him. It's quite a shame I never got him in FEH...

I can’t pick just one so Elincia, Sanaki and Lucius.

Elincia has my favorite character arc in her games. Sanaki has my favorite personal weapon in the series and I love how she tries to act grown up while having childish tendencies. And Lucius because I’ve never had a bad one in any play through and he always kicks butt.

My all-time favorite character and permanent waifu is F!Corrin. I love the way she looks, her red dragon-like eyes, the ability to use her limbs as weapons, her dragon transformation...just everything about her is amazing to me and I don't care what anyone says about this. I love Fates and it will always be my favorite Fire Emblem game.

I have almost all Fire Emblem games, only missing Tharcia 776, but no one has been as good as Fire Emblem Blazing Blade. And probably you will crucify me, but Nergal is my favorite character of Fire Emblem in general, even though Lyn, Kagero and Aversa are top waifus. Of the the males, he is the top, all his history, all what he suffered and what he did for reuniting with Aenir. I am here patiently waiting for him to appear.

Honorific mention to the 8 Legendary Heroes (Athos intensifies lol).

I doubt I can pick one so easily...there is a lot of good characters. Maybe if you ask this question again in 4 years I will have found an answer.

Joshua from Sacred Stones.

But my favorite serie is Blazing from which I like Matthew, Lyn and Hector the most.

Alm from Echoes and Sakura from Fates. I like them alot as characters in their respective games.

In Heroes a lot of people rate Alm as the worst Falcion user but I have to disagree, he a boss. Hits hard, tanks physical hits well and his windsweep skill plus Phantom Speed seal screws over Vantage, and Quick Riposte.

Sakura has been an amazing healer while also buffing other units defensive stats. I'm also excited Staves get a boost.

Unlike some of the others who've commented already, my first Fire Emblem related game is Heores, my choice is rather shallow. I've read lore on plenty of the characters through being curious about their backgrounds, but my choice is Ryoma. I gravitate to how he's a badass samurai that commands the legendary weapon named after the thunder god, Raijinto. He's plastered with memes and I love lobster so what can I say besides Ryoma ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Mmm i think its between Eirika and Lyn.
Both have a good development, and star in their own games.
Other great characters i like a lot are Héctor cause he's a total badass, and rutger, cause memedon jokes aside, he carried my ass through the binding blade on his own.

Hector. He's awesome in his own game and he's consistently held his spot as best axeman in Heroes since release.

For years and years I would have said Hector. I came in to the series in 03 with Blazing Sword and have probably played it more than any other game ever. After years and hundreds of playthroughs, Hector always stood out as a tank for an axeman, and his brash, earnestness mixed with his love of fighting I found refreshing. He was flawed, but always meant well and didn't mix words. I appreciated his character for his strength of conviction and being an insanely fun unit. I saw a bit of myself in him; flaws and strengths alike.

Then came Awakening, which I thought would be my last hurrah with the series, and I instantly came to enjoy Lucina. I appreciate honest characters; beyond that, Lucina had flaws as well. She was a bit one-sighted and quirky due to having her childhood and parents taken from her. But like Hector, she presented a strong exterior and determination in the face of hardship. The other kids leaned on her for her leadership when all else was lost. I found that enjoyable, even if not exactly new in the series.

But I think what sold me most was her interactions with others. With Male Robin, she constantly has to question if she can put someone she cares about before her mission. With her mother, she's shown to have a terrible fashion sense, which is just funny. With Chrom, she's a bit obsessive but tries her best to make up for lost time. If you include Smash and Warriors, she can be a bit fangirly over Marth and a bit sassy, giving her a little more personality than even just her game shows.

Overall, she's just a fun and complex character who I've always enjoyed, besided being an extremely powerful character when allowed to be. Her design is far more modest than most female protagonists, her motivation is a bit more unique and she is a good fictional example of how it feels to have the weight of the world on your shoulders - which fittingly Awakening had in relation to the series as a whole. So I still love Hector, Lyn, Ike and others, but Lucina has always just been a bit more unique to me since she came along. And no matter how much she gets power-creeped in this game by Ayra or Mia or other sword ladies, she'll always be the unit at the top of my castle in Heroes.

Hector! Aside from being insanely powerful, his character always stuck out to me as being this brash and rude guy who does genuinely have a heart of gold, enough to sacrifice a peaceful death for his friends and family. He's kind and resourceful and just plain cool! Though tbh I love all the lords (save for the Corrins)--they're all well thought out and very neat in their own ways.

Honorable mentions include Lucius, L'Arachel, Owain, Leon, and Lyndis.

There are so many that I love, but I'm going to say female Robin. I'm one of the scrubs who came to the series with Awakening, and it was because I was drawn to her in Smash that I decided to check out her game in the first place. I wasn't disappointed. Robin is amazing and badass and wonderful. She's a female video game protagonist that I can love unreservedly, and she has to fight her fate and her own origins (even if she doesn't remember them) and she WINS and it's the best. :D

I agree with SourPeridot. Robin (regardless the gender) is an awesome character. Well, all the tacticians in general, including Kiran. I hope that someday Mark (FE 7 Tactician) and Kiran become playable characters, since Mark has his own weapons (the Emblem Blade, Axe and Lance), and we have seen Kiran fighting against Veronica, there is still hope.
