Marth, I hope. FE's "poster boy" needs more recognition. Oh, and Reinhardt just for the memes.
For the females, I would personally like to see Micaiah and Azura.

Not sure. There are units I want in FEH, sure, but CYL gives Brave forms.

Yarne - He might be an infantry axe unit.
Owain - Maybe a red infantry mage? "Hand.. hungers!!"
Ross - Not sure on him, he might wield a bow...?
Colm - Infantry sword.
Joshua - Infantry dagger?
Cormag - Flying sword unit, and he has to be flying on a dragon.

As you can see, I've been playing a lot of Sacred Stones. xD

Sure, the winners get brave forms, but that doesn't mean that any slot lower than that is irrelevant. Case in point: Dorcas, Lute, and Mia, who would have probably ended up like Bartre, Odin, and Navarre respectively if not for their high CYL 1 finishes. Because of their good finishes, they are top-tier units with legendary weapons.

Heck, even some of the units you named have potential without having to win. Owain is definitely going to be released on an Awakening banner soon, and likely as the chase unit, considering his popularity. Ross could wield Garm (if Brave Ephraim doesn't get it). Cormag will be released soon as well, he is likely to be a chase unit on a banner. He is the highest ranked FE8 unit not yet in-game, after all.

Well yeah, but the question was who I wanted to see for CYL 3, so I was naming units that I was wanting to win.

All good choices (albeit longshots to win), especially Cormag. And Cormag. Oh, and Cormag as well.

I think you can see where my interests lie, at least from those named characters.

Dude, if you played sacred stones, how could you not think about Duessel as cavalry axe?

I actually don't like Duessel, and it's not because I dislike him, but he's sorta just... there. I'm aware of his existence, and that's about it. Not really interesting to me.

Marth.... wait, he's probably going to get something so I'm not locking him as answer! Helbindi, since FEH-characters are fair game. Instead of Marth I guess Ryoma, he should then wield that club of his.

Nino and Lachesis for the girls, I was convinced Lachesis should be awesome lady knight so her brave form would be that.

Honestly? I’d like to see Marth get some attention for the CYL. I would also really like a Brave Gunter, or Legion but that’s probably never going to happen.

For ladies, I’d really like to see Cherche and Charlotte get more attention.

Marth is the obvious answer. It's such a shame that IS had done him dirty for so long despite being the representative for the franchise for (two) decades. (I also really like him.)

Aside from Marth: I would like to see Ryoma and Alm as the male winners, and Catria and Ninian for the female winners.

I would personally want units that could be introduced so that we get things like BHBs such as Pent and Louise, Ziess ( Milady's Brother) and Elen, Athos and Brammimond. However single votes would go to Marth, Clarine, Gonzales, Lucius, Lewyn, Cormag, and Tibarn.
Marth - Need to be in from the beginning... No excuses.
Clarine- Love this girl as she was my dodge tank in 6, I love her. Maybe give her Holy Maiden/Saint's Staff.
Gonzales- He was used in my playthroughs of 6 and he has a sweet support with Lilina. Give him something like a devil axe ( Maybe an axe form of refined Mystletainn)
Lucius- Had a great time with this man in 7 and he should've been given a light tome for the game given his glass cannon status. Give him Luce.
Lewyn- From what I read, he was OP in 4 and had a good following. Give him Forseti.
Cormag- I love his ending with an A-Support Tana. his love for cats and woodworking is a plus too. Give him something like a spear with innate Distant Counter.
Tibarn- Fanservice *Cough*.

Honorable mention to Canas as he was the true MVP in 7... Bless him and is Luna abilities.
