Who is the BEST user of Darting Stance Seal?

Quick Riposte is a seal in high demand, but Darting Stance allows units who have the potential to reach ascended speed (50+ at maximum investment) to double and also deny doubles from myrmidons. It goes without saying, this frees up the B slot universally.

It has the potential to give certain "fast tank" units a new niche. (I noticed in general though that most of these units all share like a 2:1 ratio of DEF to RES.) A build that is fast and naturally lends itself to Aether acceleration can circumvent this, however.

In spite of the fact that you can simply swap seals at will, who is the unit you want to build to basically "keep" the seal? Who is the unit you will equip Darting Stance to and spend 150 coins to upgrade it to rank 3?

It seems like the easiest to acquire candidates would be Draug and Corrin.

Draug with SPD and SPD weapon can reach 50 speed. You can use Special Fighter, and your A slot is flexible.

Corrin with ATK superboon can hit 46 speed under normal circumstances. I tend to find that the refinement you use on Corrin is flexible and should be changed with the situation.

At the end of the day, if I really needed to modulate stats further, I just slap Marth into the team and reap the drives.

I've got premium units like Halloween Henry, Amelia +1 (+SPD), Zelgius (-SPD) who would normally be viable considerations, but in most cases they need Special Fighter, and between you and me, I wouldn't give most units premium fodder unless they had the IVs to reach their full potential.

Of course there are just tried and true options to use Darting Stance as a "substitute" for Quick Riposte. You could also use it on -SPD EP builds to deny doubles. Nowi seems like a good choice, but it doesn't really make the build stand out. I think you would normally use Close Defense on her most of the time, as she is usually a core tank in a team.

In summary, I just think Darting Stance opens up options for additional core tanks in your barracks. Usually they have to compete for seals like Close/Distant Defense and QR, but those seals on their own don't make those tank archetypes unique. I suppose the game changer is that we are getting our first seals that, conditionally, give 6 or more attack or speed.

Nephy is a good choice as stated above. Also mid fast dragons (my +Spd Tiki Y, or Summer Tiki... except she needs archer shield). Fast swordsmen(women, really) that only want one hit and questionable defense and don’t need flashing blade, like Karla.

I'll second the idea of Special Fighter Draug. I've had the idea of building him like that on the back burner for a while, and Darting Stance works very well with the build.

And I already have him built, +6! He is amazing without the seal tbh, because he has enough speed to double whatever he need to on player phase, and just Quick Riposte whatever else on enemy phase. Too bad you can't actually use units you like to kill stuff in the arena.

It’s weird seeing Ike being able to viably use it, 45 with Darting Stance. Don’t have the Seal yet, but it could open up his B slot.

The amazing thing about the darting stance seal is that it frees up quick riposte for tanks that need it more. Any tank with at least 34 speed can make excellent use of the seal. By all means, on a tank with decent speed, the Darting Stance seal is a quick riposte without the HP threshold that can prevent doubles (albeit will not allow you to double as consistently as you used to). This seal is godsend for Legendary Tiki, Black Knight, Zelgius, and Nephenee - ESPECIALLY if they share a team with another unit that would want quick riposte yet lacks the speed to make use of darting stance.

Quan getting +10 spd in enemy phase is pretty amazing

Also, units like Walhart and Julius who have speed normally stuck in limbo can avoid doubles now and survive better.

Hell, Walhart also gets a +10 boost if he uses his axe effect well.

I consider this seal more as a tool for avoiding doubles than for making them. Any unit who can reach 31-35 speed is a good candidate for it, since you will have 36 or more speed, meaning that the opposing unit should reach at least 41 speed to double you, and that is only possible on the fastest units in the game.

Sadly, it dies to bold fighter (and niche brash assault users).

I have a +speed Zelgius so he was my first choice, now Hardin can claim as "mine" the Quick Riposte Seal
