Which Ike to merge?

I have a +Def/-Res and a +Atk/-Def Ike. Which one do I merge? Im currently favoring keeping the +Def Ike but i'm new to the game so help would be great!

Honestly this is gonna depend on what type of play style you want to have. The +Def/-Res version can make for a great bait&tank unit (I use this exact same IV set on mine and love it). Ike's Heavy Blade skill can be a little gimmicky at times but with +Atk boon it will active on a fairly reliable rate due to Ike's already solid Atk stat. The -Def bane wont hurt him much as he still will be left with a solid Def of 29. Just make sure to keep him away from most magic users and he should be fine. Overall its really gonna come down to whether you want a player phase unit or an enemy phase unit. You really cant go wrong either way.

Thanks I wanted to go with the +Def one as well as it was not only my first Ike but convenient with him acting as my main bait for physical units. Just needed a second opinion on it.

Just to add you don't necessarily HAVE to merge them. It might not hurt to keep the one you don't build for Heavy Blade SI for another unit in the future.

That's tough. On one hand +attack makes it easier to prove heavy blade, but you would have a lot less defense. Personally I would keep the +defense one, because I prefer to use my Ike in a defensive play style, and six points in defense goes a long way in keeping you alive. I'm not sure if Ike gains any significant kos by running +attack so I really think it depends on your play style.
