Which FE group do you think is the best?

By groups i mean like bands, teams, etc. For example, the black fang, Greil Mercenaries and the Shepherds. Also why do you think said group is better than the others?

I would say the best in my opinion even if quite a deal smaller than some would be the Greil Mercenaries. They are just many times more disciplined than almost any other group and they are full of veterans with a few exceptions in Ike Rolf and Mist. They also all work together surprisingly well. The leader of the group, Ike, is also one of the most charismatic leaders in my opinion. Gawain really whipped most of them into shape. Another thing to note is Soren who is one of the best tacticians in the franchise.

Greil mercs, because unlike almost every other group, they're not royalty with inherited super weapons, and they still dominated a continent, twice, while having no help from special bloodlines, prophecies, or anything.

Helps a lot that the strongest lord in the franchise is the leader, and doesn't even use his signature weapon unless he actually HAS to use it to get shit done, furthermore, he didn't even inherit it, he took it from his dads grave just in case he needed it, and when the war was over? He gave it back to Sanaki, of course, after whipping her into shape to make her a more capable leader.

Hell, he's the strongest pure human in the franchise, canonically, and would be a contender for strongest mortal if it werent for the laguz kings, who he could probably go toe-to-toe with for awhile WITHOUT his signature weapon, something i'd question whether any of the other lords in the game could do.

I think you are overexaggerating ike a bit

I think you're wrong. Ike hadn't even finish puberty by the time POR ended, as shown by how huge he got int eh years between POR and RD, hes more than a worthy candidate of being the strongest lord by physical prowess alone, hell, just going by Ike's combat stances alone he's ready and able to just put a swords blade through a body like a butcher with a hog.

The only other lord that could give ike a run for his money with physical capabilities is hector, and hector is doomed a terrible fate because of his axe, whereas Ike isn't.

Look at what Ike's achievements are, then compare them to the other lords. He told a god to fuck off with the help of some pedophile bimbo who hated him to begin with for fucking up her whole country after he killed ashnard while he wasn't even in his prime.

Ike ain't the most charismatic, and isn't even a good leader, but he IS the strongest, and his power doesn't even come from bloodlines or weapons, it comes from hard work, practice, and refinement of technique. These things are fact.

I love Grado Generals. I dont know why but for me they are the best enemy group:
Valter, Selena, Glen, Caellach, Duessel and my favorite one: Riev

For me it would be Tellius can statisically become the most powerful units due to there being third-tier classes, and technically the Valentian units too

The Shepherds aren't bad, but there're more an anti-bandit group. By the time you get to the real war, it doesn't feel like the shepherds anymore.

Greil Mercs are quite a ways ahead. They are a merc group actively fighting in wars and foiled a coup d'etat in RD.
Ike himself, as nilla said, is probably the strongest lord around. Some come close, I think Sigurd, Hector and Chrom are pretty strong. But not on Ike's level

I'm torn between the Crusaders in FE4 and the Shepherds.

One of the groups has a multitude of powerful beings, akin to pseudo deities. Ranging from demon swords, to actual demons.

The other has the heart of a god, the voice of a god, the descendant of the strongest hero (Ike), the descendant of a hero king, and more.

That and Tellius, though, Ike is the one that stands out being according to Alfonse the strongest hero in the outrealms.
