Where to spend my next 20K feathers?

Got enough feathers that I want to spend, but I'm too conflicted on what I want to do with them. There are a few things that I can do with this (Please don't tell me to save them for later because I don't like hoarding feathers unless I already have all the copies of a unit that I want to build up to +10--which I don't.):

1. Promote a Nowi and get her to Lv. 40+5.
She is on my Arena core, so this is a solid option, but I don't need it right away because my current team can stay in Tier 20 if I snipe for 724+ per battle (max I can get is 728). All this allows me to do is switch a Dual Rally off of one of my units and replace it with Reposition without dropping my highest score potential--the merge isn't enough to earn a max of 730. This will make it easier to win these Arena matches.

2. Give Guard Bow+ to H!Jakob (+HP / -Res)
Mainly for Arena Assault, but I was so happy to get him on the Legendary Banner. This is the only skill that he is missing, aside from a Ward Armor C-Skill. (For reference: He has Close Counter and Vengeful Fighter, and will primarily serve as a tank for my second Armor Emblem team.)

3. Give Brave Bow+ to LA!Roy (+Atk / -Def)
Despite playing since Day 1, I've never gotten the chance to use any Brave Bow+ archers ever. This will be the first one if I decide to do this, and he is going to be super great with that Atk boon, Death Blow, and Cavalry buffs. Even outside of Arena / Horse Emblem, he will be super useful for any future GHB, BHB, LHB, etc.

4. Give Gronnblade+ to VA!Lilina (+HP / -Def)
You can never have enough -Blade tome users for Arena Assault! I do have a second Cavalry team fully built (except for her and VA!Roy) and it still functions pretty well, but -Blade tomes are great. (Can you tell that I like -Blade tomes?)

I say merge projects come first, so Nowi gets my vote.

I'd say merge projects, you'll be able to spend less painful moments sniping for points.

Even if I don't have all the copies available for +10, and even if the next few merges don't bump up my score? (This is mainly why I hesitate, but that's also why I ask.)

Actually, every merge increases your score by one point without a focus unit and by 2 with a focus unit, as well as increasing the unit's stats. For someone like Nowi who likes all her stats, merging would be more beneficial than giving random 5*'s weapons

I was using an online Arena score calculator in order to make my decision, and I saw that it would require 2 merges to bump my score up--even with the focus unit.

That being said, you bring up a great point: more stat points for Nowi. I think that it would give her +Res and +Spd, and Res would be super helpful. (Her IVs are +Res / -HP.)

I'm not necessarily the best at knowing which would be best but the Blade tome LA!Lilina sounds cool. My version of her is just collecting dust unfortunately and I myself wouldn't give her it but I could seeing it being really fun. Although my main reason for not giving her a bladetome would be the fact that I have a +atk WT!Olwen. Her unique blade tome makes her monstrously fun to use though so I imagine bladetome LA!Lilina would be fun too.

If you have enough units to run through a full 7 matches of arena assault, then focus on your merge projects first and use budget builds on Roy and H.Jakob.

Lilina and Roy can both function well without the + variant of brave bow and gronnblade and H.Jakob can run his default monstrous bow for now without much of an issue because ward armor can negate enough damage for him to get hit with only single digit damage

I know that I have enough units for Arena Assault, and I could easily give them budget builds. However, I just like them too much to do them dirty like that. :(

Either Nowi or Brave Roy. Both seem to be the most useful investments for you in general.

At last I have found a like-minded soul who prefers to use feathers as soon as they get them. :P

Hi, fellow friend who hates hoarding!

I honestly don't understand hoarding unless you have all 11 copies ready for merging. I think that you're only gimping yourself if you do that--kinda like how some would hoard weapons or stat-boosters in main Fire Emblem.

I don't like hording feathers in this game but I am guilty of hoarding stat-boosters in the main series fairly often, FE3 being one where I think I used them basically immediately unless a new recruit was close by that I wanted to have it. But fairly often I save them until the last couple of chapters for fixing consistently unlucky level ups for characters I'm using, like Roy in FE6 who really didn't want speed for me.

I tend to be the same way myself with feathers at most I'd save like 20k in case we get an arena season where I'm sadly forced to promote a unit for arena bonus. Or when I saved 20k when Camus's GHB was confirmed returning so that I could promote him immediately. And thankfully he's a bonus unit this arena season otherwise I would have had to use feathers on another unit instead of using them to give my +spd Innes Brave Bow+.

My priority list is: 1, 3, 4 and 2.
Merged Nowi is a great idea for arena and a solid unit fo quests. +5 is very powerful. Your LA!Roy has great IVs, so Brave Bow for him is really good. LA!Lilina needs a Blade tome to unlock her full potential, but her IVs aren't the ideal one. H!Jakob can be a good tank, but maybe a Brave Bow is better option (although Guard Bow is nice to be tanky).
This is just my thoughs. Be free to follow them if you want.
