When Unlocking a unit's potential

I'm guessing not but just a little curious, when you unlock a unit's potential does that unit lose all it's merge lvls?

Yes, they lose all the merge levels, but gets a feather discount (Same amount as sending the merged copies home)

Yes it does lose its merge lvls when you unlock potential.

If it's from a unit that is for example 4*+4 into a 5* unit then yes all the merge lvls from before is gone.
