What's the deal?

So I have been playing for a while, and I know a good amount of stuff but I have been wondering... Why are Brave archers better than brave swordsmen, lancers and axe fighters? (Brave bow+ then the brave sword lance and axe if you couldn't tell) It makes almost no sense to me, especially with the decreased bst of any ranged unit. Thanks for any info.

Because they attack twice before their enemy attacks, and with the right set, can OHKO pretty much anything. Then, combine that with the fact you can spam the dancers to make them go like four times in one turn. And you can get them out of the danger zone with Reposition.

According to me, I would say it's due to 3 reasons for the most part but I can think of an additional 2, so 5 which are :

1. Their bst may be low but their value range are just as wide as regular infantry units for the most part (recent powercreep making it less true, which is also a reason why you see less and less of them).

2. The other bows aren't too good in terms of indivual stand out. In fact, the only better bows were Clarisse bow that arrived a lot after and which is centered around debuff/support. Slaying Bow isn't so good, since their bst is low it often means their have up to 2 high stats, so their can't use the powerful Bonfire/Iceberg with paying a price (Atk or Spd often).

3. Bows' Mt are lower anyways, for example silver sword has 15Mt while silver bow as 12Mt. However, Brave sword has 8Mt while Brave Bow have 7Mt. The difference is much lower and the cost of opportunity too so.

4. Brave weapons' effect is just one of the strongest overall, especially before the increased BST heroes, since the meta was made of squishy heroes or slow heroes so you can quadra them.

5. Brave weapons put a penalty on Spd (-5) and have a lower might than the average bows. The Spd penalty implies that you have higher chance of getting double but the fact is, an archer wouldn't tank one hit of retaliation anyway in most cases. Making them player phase units anyways, so brave bow maximizes their chance of killing the units before they can retaliate.

I'm not a Brave Bow user myself. Nevertheless, I'm pretty certain of what the reasons are...

1) Brave builds are usually player phase focused, and terrible on enemy phase. Ranged units have an easier time moving in for the kill without venturing into enemy territory so much.

2) Colorless means no weapon triangle to muddle the issue.

3) Archers in general tend to have higher speed than their melee compatriots. This gives them more quad potential. IIRC, the fastest melee units we've got usually come packaged with better weapons (Legendary weapons, Wo Dao+, etc).
