What's the best part of the 2.9 update, How Good is Combat Manual and how much space did you get after using it

For additions in 2.9 personally, the addition of Combat Manuals has gotta be one of the best inclusion that's ever been added to FEH. Cause this thing managed to get me to save space from 480 to 292 units. That's a lot of space that I got and a lot of orbs that I managed to save. So my question in your opinion what's the best addition that's been added by 2.9 and if you used combat manuals how much space did you get with it.

The manuals are easily the best thing about the patch so far, although the weapon refines are also a pretty big highlight. Also, we still have to wait and see how enjoyable those relay defense maps will be, but it's most likely going to be just a reverse rival domain.

As for the saved space: I went from around 540 down to 233. Kind of feels bad that I bought couple of those barracks expansions tho...

Yea I think guys like us who were able to save at least 100 or more space with combat manuals would feel kinda feel bad cause we spent up to 20 orbs that we could have used for a full summoning instead and maybe even be able to pity break from those 5.5 % banners or 10.50% legendary banners that could have given us the unit that we want..

It's awesome. I had previously made a bunch of 4* merges that I sometimes regret as they get good refines (e.g. Eirika) and now I won't have to consider that anymore.

I wouldn't say there's an objective best part about this update; it will help different people differently. Some people won't be affected too much by any of the refines because they don't like Cherche, lack the skill to exploit the Odin refine, and don't have Celica. Some people don't really care for any of the new units. Combat manuals will help everyone, but they don't change the battlefield that much and certainly not in any direct fashion.

That's why I'm asking the question. Cause I know for a fact that some people might have a different response. For Newer players that haven't expanded their barracks, the Combat manuals don't really affect that much compared to people like me, The refines don't affect people who do have those units invested or have interest to using said unit compare to those who. That's why I want to know what in their opinion is the best part of this update cause i am curious for the different answers that may be given.

I see. I myself really like this update. Looking forward to cleaning up my barracks. Odin's prf is extremely interesting and offers massive rewards if you know what you're doing. Cherche's refine is straightforward and exciting; don't need to spend 20k feathers to give her brave axe anymore, and she even gains 3mt and panic ploy. (And arena weight, if you're merging her.) Now I can maybe spend 20k less feathers foddering a Valter for panic ploy.

The new units are interesting. Barrier blade opens up some interesting options, but the real juice is special spiral. I play +spd Nowi and like to block doubles, and now I might actually activate aether every turn without getting doubled. Plus, I wouldn't mind an extra green mage. I'm seeing a lot of def-focused 30-33 spd Nowi in arena assault.

Celica's refine is somewhat infuriating to me. Another bone thrown to stupid mode, another step towards phoenix mode. There was a reason why Ragnarok's effect only works at 100%HP and inflicts recoil damage. Now they're just giving her tons of stats with literally zero drawback. It's cheap, cheap like W.Tharja's outfit.

The manuals are a pretty neat thing, i transferred every 3* into manuals, i tried to keep at least 1 copy of every 4* for HM farming.
Kept every GHB units just in case. The 5* that are destined to be fodders are still there, i won't tranform them into manuals yet

Manuals are absolutely the best. I went from hovering around 1080 to 290. Most of those units were planned merge projects and fodder. I just counted, and I had collected enough units for 56 full merge projects waiting for feathers and good IVs. And so much fodder on top of that. And now I'm never going to get those expansion orbs back...

Also the level 1 promotions.

Did you know that you can promote multiple units at the same time if they've been turned into manuals? I didn't even know I wanted it and it's fantastic. My 3* GHB units are all 4*s now.
