What A skill and Weapon for Ninian?

I got a -HP +Atk Ninain while trying to get Linde and I'm not sure what to give her.
Her B and C skill is WoM and Fortify Dragons.
Her special is noontime.

Now I'm debating between using Water Breath or Light Breath. Speed refine for both. Water helps her survivability but Light makes her better at support. And I have no idea for A Skill.

Could someone help?

I don't have experience with Ninian so I can't really tell, but feels to me like it's dependent on team composition. Consider that if you use your turn to buff, you're not dancing. (Also, someone on the opposing team is gaining a special charge, which might be relevant if they have a low cooldown special and/or vantage.)

Ninian was actually the first five star unit I got, and I've found that she can generally tank quite well, especially for a dancer. The issue with her default Light Breath is that if you are attacking enemies in order to activate the +5 stat buffs, then you are wasting potential uses of Dance, for which you could just use another non-dancing dragon units like Nowi. If, however, you have danced a unit and still find yourself caught in the enemy crossfire, Water Breath will be much more effective - you will be able to dance in the player phase and maintain survivability in the enemy phase (As well as making up for the bulk lost with her -HP IV).

As far as A skill goes, fury is generally a good investment as it gives her a bit more bulk and as you generally don't want your dancers tanking anyway. If you really want to go all out in survivability, a combo of steady breath, quick riposte (in the seal slot) and aether make Ninian truly a force to be reckoned with.

Tl;dr -> go with Water Breath (and Fury for a budget build); it will be better for your Ninian's survivability overall. Hope this helps!

To me, if you don't have a +speed, I'd go with a TA lightning breath build and use her as a red check. B slot is WOM or sowrbreaker if you want to be sure to kill ayra and Zelgius. If you want to go extra cheap, use Light breath even though it's pretty bad. While not bad, I don't see a reason to spend 20k feathers to change her weapon and not give her lightning breath. Her special should probably be something that help her kill stuff... she's weak even with TA, though you have the boon.

Steady Breath and Lightning breath+ (def refined) can make her have 27 res and 27 def, making her a dancer that can actually take a hit. (The Ninian's ivs is +spd -hp)

Report

Seriously why do people do that? Unless you have infinite ressources or so, doesn't 37 atk feels bad to you??? My ninian do not deal much damage with TA against red, can't imagine yours... Don't get me wrong it's a fine build, it works on about anyone, but I'd like a unit built like that to counter her opposite color completely, and she doesn't sadly...

Report

Ironically she is built to be a dancer that can go in the line of fire. I don't even mind the low attack stat because she can tank blue and red melee units. I know it seems outrageous not having any attack, but most of the time I don't care about it xd.

If she was a +def (mine is that) id go light breath for better survivability in enemy phase if she attacked before that phase starts, but since yours is +atk id still go with light breath for 1) your speed will prevent enemies from doubling her, 2) if she atked then enemies are in there phase, she will have +5 to atk, spd, def, res which makes it possible for her to double them back.

For (A) id go for a brazen skill since after she attacks, her hp will usually be under 80% by that point. For better use of proc i would go with moonbow or luna with her low atk, and it works with these skills

Report

For a general support first, combatant second, I would do Water Breath spd, Dance, Moonbow, Fury, WoM or Escape Route, Drive Speed, and Speed seal.

If you want her to see more combat, I replace with Light Breath spd, Triangle Adept, and Swordbreaker to be a dedicated red check.
