i do have access to close counter which would help, but I do not have access to any fighter skills. and ideas on sets to run?
If you support him with hone armour, gronnblade is pretty good. You could even go L&D + desperation because he has the mixed bulk to take a hit anyways (and L&D2 is functional if you want to save your best fodder)
Otherwise I'd be looking at Gronnowl+def and close counter with QR.
Those IVs are literally perfect for a mega tank build. Armor/Tactic Buffs make this even more disgusting, allowing his defense to possibly skyrocket to the 50s.
If you can afford to save some orbs, I would recommend trying to get copies of him for merging when the old Halloween banner returns, as he benefits from every stat on merging
