What IV to settle with? (legendary Eirika)

... I have one + atk -HP, and one +spd -res...

-I really want the extra atk for more damage, and possibly a Slaying edge + heavy blade set with the special time reduction, but gods that HP superbane why...

-I'd make do with the speed if cavalry could use flashing blade so I wouldn't have to worry about out-powering the target with heavy blade as I possibly use slaying edge instead to make 2-charge pseudo-aether/black luna every other attack with her Luna brace, or 4-charge galeforce far more consistent and flexible.

So what to use... I'm leaning to +atk -HP... -_-

Her BST is at 156, so if you are concerned for arena I don't think a superbane (which will put her at 155 BST) will change her scoring bin any, if you are worried about that at all.

+Spd-res. Think about it this way. Your bulk, will go down to squishy mage levels of bulk. Are you really willing to have to enter a fight and not be able to use her as much as before because she's literally going to have 34 hp and 27 def without her buff active?

With spd you assure nobody will double you in any scenario, and the -res wont hurt because you wont be tanking mages. +atk may do more damage, but the -hp will kill you more often than not since you'll want to take that extra bit of damage to assure you don't get killed in 1-2 hits by the most popular of units.

2 things:
- i don't think a unit that reaches 34 base atk with a boon is a good candidate for Heavy blade as she won't be able to activate it on most enemies
- Lunar brace+Moonbow is not the same as Black Luna, there are cases where they will deal about the same dmg, but in most cases Lunar brace+Moonbow is the one that deals more dmg

With that said, i can see why you would want to swap her weapon, be carefull thougth, her dmg output will be low as you will spap out a 19mt weapon, the only way for her to deal dmg that way will be throught special, this means that anyone with Special fighter and Guard can tank her.
Unluckily you can't get a bane on her hp as she already has so few points there and you also have a superbane, if you plan on keeping her weapon then +spd and +atk are both good choices, with +spd being slightly better, while if you want to swap her weapon you need to have a +atk on her or she will miss so many kills

Congratulations on those perfect IVs.
There is no better feeling than summoning your favorite units with outstanding values the first time (especially on a legendary banner). I would go with+ATK -HP. Because her noodle arms need as much extra power as she can get.

Someone else asked the same question a few days ago. (Same IV spreads and everything.) I'll give you a link to that thread in case you need more help:

I'd say that if you can give Eirika Atk Smoke + Close Def (or some similar setup) and have her receive Fortify Cavalry or Def and Res Tactic support (along with your Hone Cavalry) to boost her defenses before you send her off to solo things, then go with +Atk / -HP. If you can't afford to do so, then go with +Spd / -Res to preserve her physical bulk.

Also, I really don't think that it's a good idea to exchange her weapon for Slaying Edge. While the base effect isn't all too amazing, the 19 Mt is very much needed to help boost Eirika's lackluster 31 Atk (34 if you run +Atk boon, instead).

Perfect, I was about to suggest that thread. Also, Gael, you might like to scan quickly through the last 6-7 pages of question lines to see other questions about IVs on this Eirika. It will give you more perspective.

I do think heavy blade is doable on +atk because atk/spd solo already puts her at 54 atk (heck, you could go firesweep and even get 1 extra mt in a zone where every point can make the difference), but her weapon is really good so I'd prefer to give up the brace. Admittedly, it can be inconvenient on a healing special build because you want to hit lighter on a non-special attack, so something like slaying edge+def, sol, brace, and heavy blade can be considered.

I think there's a case to be made that -res is better than -HP, and it goes along these lines:
- she doesn't want to get hit by random mages
- her HP is marginal for taking two hits to her def even without a bane. -4 just makes it even harder.
- she probably gets hit a maximum of once to her res even if she fights a manakete. So better to lose 3HP than 4. This I think is the tipper.
- difficult to boost her HP. She will not receive a blessing bonus, and it's hard to find an alternative good enough to give up the prf.

The case for -HP goes like this: 24 res with prf effect, virtually 31 with atk smoke. Add fortify cavalry, and it's 37. She could conceivably take an extra hit on her res, especially on a build involving a healing special. But I don't think she's especially good on maps where she should need to take an extra hit.

Personally, I definitely prefer +atk to +spd because in my play style (or the order/system of my barracks) anything she can't double with hone cavalry should be the responsibility of a QR tank or someone with a breaker. And as for the banes, both are pretty easily workable. Even a single fortify cavalry can take care of things, and I find her damage output a bit excessive on the base kit (even on neutral atk) so I tend to want to give up either the prf or the brace. I'd prefer to give up the brace over the prf (though it does make me sad) so +atk becomes maybe even more important. 50% of an opponent's def is often more than 10 (which is twice the difference between slaying edge mt and prf mt)
