What if EV's were a thing?

google something like "Pokemon EV", it shoud give you decent results about what OP means. It's basically "effort value", which means that your pokemon's specific stats would be raised if he fought specific enemies. In FEH you could imagine it like fighting a tanky guy like Arden, would give you +1 def after defeating him.

Effort Value, it allows you to customize where you'd add onto your characters stats. Say you have 10 point to give to a unit's stats, and the maximum you can add to each stat is 4. If I wanted to increase my Roy's stats I'd choose +3Res, +3Def, and +4Atk. And i'd be able to choose wherever they'd go. It's sort of like extra building. However, like ivs these get repetitive and are usually optimized always as they are done at will. So most offensive units will put them into Spd/Atk maxed, and tanks will mix between Atk/Def/Res. I think it'd be a bad idea overall for them to be in the game as it'd favor these types of characters over everyone else. Also just isn't too necessary.

EVs would be nice but in a game like FEH where the stat values are typically low, I don't think you could benefit too much as opposed to something like Pokemon, where the values are typically in the hundreds at the endgame.
If there were EVs, how many EVs would be considered max? In Pokemon the max EVs were 510 and out of those 510, each 4 EVs equaled 1 stat boost.
I like the idea because it helps patch up bad IVs (which are basically natures in FEH) and helps a unit get focused stats to a specialized part of their builds, but I don't see the stat increase being higher than 4, which is slightly higher than Summoner Support.
