What if crowns are used for upgrading skills to their 4th tier.
Gives good incentive to actually try for 21.

Or more reason to be discredited. I’d never try for arena because then the lvl 4 skills (which would be high meta) would become necessary to maintain rank. Then you’d need niche builds to get through if you can’t whale. And even if those builds work they need to be focus unit kills to actually count for something

Yeah, but then not that many people could be "wise" if they didn't have a significant edge at doing so (at least a year of doing things "right"). You can take this as an excuse, but I didn't see much of a reason to bother merging characters until my favorites came into the picture (I mean yeah Henry was always there but Charlotte is a seasonal).
But then you could've just built armours and Dragons, but that's also assuming you are actually interested in them (or don't care selling yourself to them). I'm certainly not.

This is currently the only case where I think you would need an armor unit on your team entirely for scoring potential, due to the current requirement for getting a baseline score of 740 per match. I can't verify with certainty that 740 is the lowest though, I don't have enough crests to cycle through 5 738 score matches to see if its enough, and in fact, i've given up trying to stay in 21 until I get an armor built for it, which lets me take a week off of thinking about arena every other week.
However, the fact that you can still get INTO 21 in the first place without any units above 158 bst, still says a lot about the ability to ever put forth the effort with characters you like.

Whales deserve rewards for their spending, otherwise why would they spend? Someone that doesn't pay a dime SHOULD have to work way harder and think smarter if they want to get rewards for free. Money is the shortcut of life, and its always been that way, even before currency was a thing, trading what you had for what you wanted was always the biggest thing in communities.

Thing is, the game itself basically tells you that if you're spending, it's because you want to. Whenever I asked around as to why people +10'd characters, they told me it's because of their passion towards said character. I doubt anyone feels a sense of competetivity if they basically payed their way into (I know I wouldn't).
The game doesn't owe us anything, paying or not.

People don't need to have credit card debts to show their love. The fact they keep playing and following the series works. If their premise of sustain was "hey guys if you would be so kind could you support us donating every once in a while" and not making it seem it's entirely optional, they should've gone with that.

"I personally blame the two dating sims that were Fateskening."
Not sure if I should take this seriously, like the way FEH is has any correlation with Fates and Awakening being "dating simulators" when in actuality it was a way to get people to actually play the game considering how the series was mostly dead and all. Incorporating ways to better communicate with your allies with your 'custom character'. Yes, you can marry, but, in the long run, it's just a way to get more support conversations and more units for your army.
The game evolved, and if people can't adapt to the FE series and how it changes, then they should probably stop playing the new titles and go back to the old ones.
Grow up.

No, it doesn't. My arena core consist of 3 5*+10 158 BST characters that I got completely F2P and I used Alfonse as my bonus. I used previous legendary Banners to get premium fodder using orbs I saved. It's easier as a whale but still possible without a credit card :)
Edit: The only premium skill on my team is Wrath on my Roy actually, the rest use budge 240SP B skills.

@Averdi: I gotta give it you, then. You're a minority, though. You should know that.
I'm also mostly F2P, but I don't have trouble getting some of the "rare" skills like Wrath. Those things aren't so much the hard part as it is having a strong headstart as well as coinciding in a few things.
@Nilla: Can't speak for myself, but there's probably a lot of F2Players who have a job and just use their money for other things.
