What if Arena split 5-ways in book 3?

So a thought occurred, so it probably won't happen, but it's kind of fun to think about regardless. What if instead of the usual armor nonsense waiting for people at Tier 21, it was just it's own arena while people that prefer flier emblem or cavalry emblem can enjoy their own arenas? Infantry can have it's own arena too while fans of Tactics skills have their own little haven and not have the fear of seeing nothing but armored foes unless they go to the specific arena. Scores obviously would be handled differently, most notably the Tactics Arena could give bonus points for each movement type on the team instead of bonus unit babysitting. Now obviously it sounds annoying to have 5 arenas instead of 1 to worry about, rewards could end up scattered weird, all sorts of things would have to change.

Again, this was just an idea that popped in my head now, so I wouldn't mind feedback and ideas of how this could be handled. The obvious big changes would have to be a severe discount on feather requirements for promotion and the BST score system, how bonus units work. Other game modes in general would be nice, but if Arena is what IS wants to bank on, then this could be an idea worth exploring, thoughts anyone?

I do think arena needs a major overhaul, and I also would say that adding an alternative to the current system is probably the only way it happens from what I've heard about Japanese laws regarding gacha games.

I don't think separating movement types is the answer. The complaint about the current system is that it's all about armours; would we want the problem multiplied by 5?

The idea in my head was that if one was sick of Armors, they could just ignore that specific arena or only go in a couple of times for the sake of daily quests since that would probably change big time too. But I guess for hardcore Arena players yeah, it could maybe be worse.

Seeing Reinhardt all the time in Horse arena would get annoying quickly, and the duel skills would just make H!Nowi a Reinhardt type roadblock in Flier Arena cause blade tomes. Thanks for bringing this up, there's a lot to Arena that needs fixing, just not sure where to truly start, even with this idea.

For me, the heart of the matter is "always seeing the same teams in higher Tier Arena". If Arena was divided by movement type, the issue would only be further exacerbated. Just my opinion though, a seperate Movement exclusive, non arena, gauntlet would be neat

I've purposed a ton of possible changes to fix the arena, but the problem is that unless japanese players (american players dont matter, whether you like it or not), call for change, no change will happen, thats just how it is. The franchise is japanese first, everyone else second, it doesnt matter what anyone else says or thinks, thats how it works, and thats how it will always work.

Out of curiosity, do you have numbers either showing the number of players from Japan compared to from USA and from other countries, or the amount of spending broken down in similar manner?

It's not a matter of player count, is a matter of company mindset, thats why theres things like "nintendo of america" or "nintendo of europe", instead of just "nintendo". FEH is produced by and for their core japanese audience, everyone else is an after thought. Just look at past nintendo games that had direct difficulty nerfs when released outside of japan, its not just locked to the fire emblem franchise.

All nintendo thinks about in terms of the west is money, and as long as that money comes in, they'll ingore everything else, excluding public relations fiascos, like the Jinx bullshit with pokemon. Furthermore, FEH isn't even for the fans to begin with, its for the developers to show their love for the franchise, why do you think some characters get alts that no one seems to want or understand the reasoning behind? Why do you think some characters that werent very popular to begin with got in at all?

What the Devs want > What Japanese fans want > What the West wants. Thats just how it is, thats why its pointless to send feedback unless you're doing it in japanese with the japanese language pack installed.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the case. Take certain units' arts into consideration and you could tell they were made based on various aspects in Japanese culture. Fjorm and Gunnthra, and some of the more loli-esque designs are standout examples. Heck, this happens a bunch outside of FEH/FE communities in general. Pokemon is a noteworthy example. Compare the amount of Globally available event Pokemon to the amount of Japan-exclusives.

Although, I'm curious about that feedback comment. I'm sure they're most likely to notice the Japanese feedback, but I wonder if the feedback in non-Japanese areas are relayed to the main Japanese one. I can't imagine they'd ignore larger complaints, at least not completely ignoring them.

The problem isn't exclusively all about armors or nintendo being a self serving dick. There is a problem with a large number players with all types of games, but these types especially. That problem is the desire to win and they don't try to do so with units or characters that they like. They only use units that they have found out are the most powerful with certain skills then they play that set up and only that set up, soley because they want to win. That is why you see the same set up 8 out of 10 times when you go in.

I played some other games where physical fighting styles were powerful, but couldn't compete with the magic units OP as fuck
Damage out put from spells, plus the leaching, sleeping, slowing, stunning and stat lowering effects. As you can guess 70% of those games' players went soley with what would allow them to winn ALL THE TIME!

That is what really pisses me off.
