What If: 10,000 Feathers for 4* -> 5*
I think getting feathers is kind of decent with events. But the amount to get a 5* +10 takes a while. And plus, just getting 20,000 without events is.... Do you think reducing the amount of feathers from 20,000 to 10,000 would be a good idea or no, and do you think it would happen at some point? I'm curious on your thoughts.

I'd rather it doesn't happen. Half of the feathers I spent would go to waste, which could include feathers someone could spend like a week or two before they'd make the change.
And I doubt they'd have the balls to return the 10.000 extra feathers you spent for each 5* promotion until that point.
I think the best thing to do would just be to increase the amount of feathers earned everywhere instead of changing the cost at this point.

That's "throwing good money after bad" thinking. Saying you don't want to pay less for something in the future because you've paid more for it already. It's silly.
Whether they decrease the cost or increase the amount earned, I'm all for being able to promote a unit more quickly.

If we go with the assumption that they could decrease the cost at any point, then that would mean the "smart" thing to do would be to not make any 5* promotions until said hypothetical change happened (IF it ever happens).
Not only do I not want to feel like I wasted thousands of feathers, I also don't want someone to spend 220.000 feathers in one go to +10 some unit just to see how they make it cost half what they spent a week later.
Reducing the cost of something many of us have been spending resources on for almost 2 years at this point would feel like a penalty to veteran players in my opinion (assuming that's the only action they take).
I doubt they intend to reduce the cost anyway, especially since we just got a way to get more copies of GHB/TT units. I'm guessing they knew we would really like that because many players want to be able to +10 their favorites. But who knows? Maybe 3.0 will already make this change. I could also be wrong in my thought process, but I personally find it very logical.

Honestly, I think it's fine.
Making it so that we can't pump out 5*+10 one after the other makes projects seem more worthwhile
And I don't think IS will do it.
Besides, there are bigger concerns. Like the ever growing 5* pool, or even the quite sizable 4* pool. Changes to summoning are way more needed.

Honestly, the one thing I'd love the most is probably a way to make a unit's IVs neutral (not even necessarily a way to make them the ones you want).
That and the demotion of some old 5* exclusive units like regular Lyn and Ephraim. At this point, 5* exclusives should at least be good fodder too.

They could always go the hearthstone route and make different sets of summonable heroes, but I don’t think that’s likely. The current system would be a lot better if they demoted more units that are older to mitigate bloated pools (looking at you, red 5*). I’d love it if OG Lucina was 4*, and that wouldn’t cause any crazy balance issues

I highly doubt they would lower the promotion to 5* especially not down to 10k that would be a kick to the throat to everyone that has spent a bunch of feathers upgrading units already, unless they where to give the amount of feathers to everyone that they have spent already to make it fair to everyone especially use f2p players
