What Fire Emblem Games Have You Played?

I first started playing FE when it debuted in America with FE7 and immediately fell in love with it. Since then, I've played every subsequent entry, and have gone back and played FE6. I'm currently playing through FE4 and will work on FE5 after that. Which titles have you all played? Which were your favorites?

I know I've seen quite a few people out there who haven't played any entry in the series other than this one, which I find interesting since most people want to get the characters they've had previous attachments to. So if you're one of these people, I'm also interested in knowing what made you come to this game in the first place, and if it has made you want to play any of the main games now that you've gotten to know some of the characters.

I started off with Awakening, soon followed by the Shadow Dragon remake. Sense then i’ve played FE7, Sacred Stones, Fates, and Echoes.

And I 100% agree with you on the curiosity of people having FEH as their first FE game.

Like, how do you even stay interested when you have minimal connection or knowledge of the characters?
It is a fun game ig, so that could keep ‘em coming

I started with Awakening (still my fave) and then I played them all in order of the lore.

FE7, then 6. Then I played 8 (Third fave), FE Genealogy (Second Fave), Thracia, then FE 1,2,3, then I went and beat Ike's games before this one (cause Priam is Ike's descendant, Ike lived in Archanea for some time and this is my 4th Fave)

The first game I played was Fates Birthright. I'm a Fates baby and I'm proud of it. Sure it's not the best but God damn is it fun. After that, Conquest was soon after. Arguably my first challenge in the series as I played that on hard (I was too scared for Lunatic att). After that was FE 7. And holy crap, I loved it. My favorite one I've played so far. It's just the perfect balance of everything FE related imo. Echoes was next, and I loved that as well. And then was Shadow Dragon and I loved that as well.
My ranking of all that I've played so far, from fav going down...
Blazing Blade
Conquest
Shadow Dragon
Echoes
Birthright
And the characters I've come to know and read into like Charlotte, Hector, Serra, Nyx, Eliwood, Nino, Legault, Python, Caeda, Marth, Alm, Celica, and so many more.
God I love this series

Play FE8 next!
It's very much like FE7 gameplay wise, but quite easy to get into. It doesn't have the giant tutorial like Lyn mode has.

It has a good story and great characters. It's not better than FE7, the gameplay can get a little too easy, but it's really worth checking out.

Report

The best FE story wise in my opinion is Path of Radiance. If you can find a working Dolphin Emulation, i recommend it. Also you probs like fates the most cuz it was the first you played. Similar to me and Sacred stones.

Oh Fates is WAAAAY overhated. I could go into it but I'd ramble for hours :p. It's not perfect, absolutely not. But so many people forget about its great aspects.

Ahhh the days of nostalgia.
I was like, 9 or 10 when I picked up blazing blade (FE7) in store because it looked cool. First game I really played as 'gamer', I'd say.
I sucked at it. Only had the lords, Marcus, Oswin and Hawkeye left around the chapter you fight Lloyd for the first time.

I've played, from earliest game to the last:
FE4 Genealogy (60%)
FE6 Binding Blade (Only once fully)
FE7 Blazing Blade (Countless times)
FE8 Sacred Stones (Also countless times, playing it again now)
FE10 Radiant Dawn (A couple times, strange playing it and not FE9)
FE11 Shadow dragon (Only once fully)
FE12 Heroes of light and shadow (A few times)
FE13 Awakening (A few times)
FE14 Fates (Conquest and Birthright a few times, never finished revelations)
FE 15 Echoes (Once fully. Really think this is an amazing game, but it's not very replay friendly)

Personal favortes are is classic GBA western duo. Mostly for nostalgia, I've played them to death.
FE 7 has a better plot, and more balanced difficult gameplay. If you ignore Lyn mode.
FE 8 has better characters, especially the side characters are really well done. It's also very easy to pick up, play casually and replay.

Reading this made me realize how i dont actually replay games very often. I do like the games but I cant think of one I replayed except maybe twice after a really long break. Like I played the Wii U virutal console games with someone else after they got released, but for the most part I dont replay them at all.

Report

Well, replays were mostly because I started when I was 10. Which is 13 years ago.

So lots of time to replay stuff.

Some games are easier to replay than others.
The GBA and Awakening+Fates are really easy to replay
But games like Radiant Dawn and Echoes aren't as fun the second time through.

I started with Blazing Blade, then I played Binding Blade, Sacred Stones, Shadow Dragon(DS), Echoes, and Awakening. Working through Genealogy and Thracia and I don't have Fates yet, but I feel like I have a good enough grasp on the characters to enjoy FEH.

I have all FE games with the exception of the first 3 and radiant dawn. All games before 11 I have as emulations

~20 chapters in Birthright and Lyn's game, finished the story in Echoes and i'm close to finishing Sacred Stoners.

I started playing FEH because it was the newest Nintendo mobile game at the time and i wanted to know what's a "gacha".

I played Shadow Dragon, Path of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn. Then I never got a 3DS.

I started with Sacred Stones, it was an amazing game, loved everything about it. Except the fact that trainees and every single healer died.

Moved from that and played Awakening, I put 400 hours into that. There were loads of characters that I liked, hated Validar as he’s an ass.

Fates was beautiful for me, the OST gets your heart pumping. Revelation was good for me as I got all my favourite characters in on whole game. Including Charlotte, Midori, Kagero, Camilla, Kiragi, Subaki and Xander. The story behind Oboro’s hatred for Nohr is crazy, I can’t believe Beruka Killed them. I had 3 accounts and put 400+ hours into all of them. I’m proud To say that fates is my favourite game.

Then I played Echoes, I really hated the game style. Archers with 1-5 range was disgusting. Don’t get me started on the Cantors and that labyrinth at the end with that stupid dragon. The voice acting was nice and the dungeon/Cave things where you can roam freely.

1. Fire Emblem Sacred Stones: my first Fire Emblem, my favorite one. I have played it at least 20 times (and always finished it)
Its my favorite game between all games, and no-FE games also count.

2. FE7 and Shadow Dragon. I love FE7 because its the most similar to FE8 and I admit its story is even better than FE8's one. But I keep loving more how FE8 works and its characters.
I dont like Shadow Dragon that much as I love GBA games.

3. FE Binding Blade. My favorite FE are from GBA era.I love FE6,
7 adn 8.

4. Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance: just played it a bit. I have to finish both games I love the long cast and the different races and peoples.

5. Awakening: I loved Awakening, I have to admit it. Pretty sad Im pretty tired now of this game and its characters just for IS spamm.

6. Fates, Genealogy and Echoes: the game Im playing right now. Conquest to be exact.

Right now, Im playing these games at the same time: Echoes, Path of Radiance, Fates Conquest, Genealogy of the Holy War, Binding Blade and Sacred Stones (I always play this game)

Report

Ive played them all except for FE4 FE5 and one other I cant remember I think Conquest? One of the Fates. I went from gameboy to DS games and my favorites were probably Blazing Blade, Binding Blade, Echoes. The Tellius games were also up there though.

I picked up Awakening on my 3DS a few years ago and played it for a few hours. Never finished it, so I guess I'm one of "those people" who doesn't have any attachments to characters.

As for the question of how I came to the game, I started playing a couple days after release. I'm a Nintendo fan and at that point was getting sick of Pokemon Go. I loved the collecting aspect of PoGo but found it sorely lacking in the training and battling department. It was a far cry from the fond memories I'd had of catching powerful Pokemon way back in Red and making them my own through the training/battling grind. I just didn't feel any connection to the Pokemon I caught in PoGo because after catching them, they just sat there and couldn't be trained through any kind of direct effort. The candy method was a joke.

So when I found Fire Emblem Heroes, it was a breath of fresh air. The anime art style, strategy gameplay, training, and collecting aspects all hit just the right spots for me and have kept me hooked ever since. As for going back to the main games, I did boot up Awakening again a few months ago but again lost interest quickly. I may still go back and play it, who knows.

Thank you for your input. I'm glad to hear this game has kept your interest despite no prior attachment. As far as mobile games and gachas go, this game is incredibly loyal to it's source material, which is why it has kept me hooked. While I think Awakening is an incredibly solid title, if I might make a recommendation, I would suggest trying to play FE7 (or FE8 if you like a little more freedom and customization). Those two games really capture the spirit of FE, at least in my eyes. Perhaps they might do something for you that Awakening could not and we can assimilate you into the herd. *One of us chant*

I was one of the many, many people who only knew about it from Smash for a while now, along with being an Ike main myself. When Awakening was about to come out, I read a few things about it, recognized the series title and decided to get it on a whim. It ened up being one of my best gaming decisions. The order after that was Shadow Dragon, PoR and RD (both played at a friend's house. no thank you, $150 price tag), Fates, Echoes, Warriors and finally Heroes. I have also seen the rest of the games, but have yet to play them.

Report

Only Awakening, Fates (all three, in the recommended order), and part of Echoes. I need to get back to Echoes, but the grind got ridiculous. I'd play the older ones only if they re-do them like they did with Echoes and make permadeath optional. I'm just not good enough to deal with permadeath, and I'd hate to see my units die anyway. I'm in it for the story/characters, so "casual" and easy mode all the way for me.
