What to do with V!Ike when he wins?

Since V!Ike is probably gonna win (grumble grumble i woulda preferred a free armor mage), what tf am i gonna do with a second copy of him? I guess fodder off Warding Breath? Would a +Def -Hp Nowi make good use out of it? Other than that, there’s no one that’ll really make good use out of it

If he unfortunately wins, then I'll probably just merge mine. I wish they gave him Aether, and then Radiant Aether so that way I could fodder off the neutral winning V!Ike to my Donnel for Aether... but he doesn't have it, he has Sol.

Ugh.

This hero rises thing has gotten everyone salty as hell. I still think IS fucked up by not letting us pick what hero we individually want, rather than making one big giveaway of what the plurality desires. As much as I am ok with any of the 4 heroes we might get and have plans for each, I would have actually chosen someone else if I could have picked the hero I wanted. I think that could have saved a lot of people from getting mad, and could have allowed us all to get what we wanted/needed for our varying projects.

True, but even so, it doesn't take common sense to realize that all of this division and unnecessary hate and dislike is completely unwarranted. If people are seriously gonna be immature children and be pissy because I'm voicing my displeasure in the possibility of getting a unit I already have and could possibly not have a use for, then fine. I already knew about the idiocy that can go on in the FEH community, so this is just one more thing to add on to the list.

I'm happy that Intelligent Systems is even doing this, but I will agree that it was a huge mistake by making it a "popularity contest" and it's not even that anymore. A lot of people didn't vote based on what unit they wanted as a 5* because they wanted the 5* unit to use, they voted because they wanted a skill that said 5* has, which, ya know, fine, but don't make it to where most of the community can drag me down because they want to have more Distant Counter fodder while I could have a flying Bladetome, or an armored mage.

It was good in theory and on paper, but the execution was absolutely awful, and it really didn't help matters by pretty much telling people to vote for V!Ike during their stream.

All in all, because I'm pretty much ranting at this point, I just want this event to be over. The constant disliking my comments because I'm voicing my reasons over not wanted a unit, or what I'm gonna do with said unit, is getting old. Hilarious as it is, it's immature and uncalled for. Just end the event already so I can get this free 5* and go on with whatever else is happening in this game. Can't handle the obscene amounts of salt that this community has been collecting recently.

Agreed 100%. I have hated popularity contests for the longest time, especially when I was in high school. It glorified those who didn’t really need or deserve glory. FEH is no different in that sense. Popularity contests do nothing but piss people off, and the VG is no exception to this rule.

Hold on to it? Why does it need to be something you use right away?

That was pretty much the reason for the event for a lot of people. Get a free 5* that you can add to your team(s) to make them better, or get a unit that you can fodder off for their skills. But for people that already have the unit that won, and don't really have a place for it, or have anyone that can use their skills, then you have the unfortunate task of pretty much either merging or benching them.

I can vouch for Fjorm with Warding Breath, DD seal and Glacies to make her a scary threat to mages, with she can ORKO almost any mage she fights. Other than that hold onto him for anyone down the line who can make good use of it.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but since I didn't get L!Ike, I appreciate getting him for free. As for the whole attitude of being salty for not getting a character YOU want instead of what IS had planned, this is something I would have to say I'm having difficulty understanding.

Here's why: compared to how other game devs treat their gaming populace (F2P and paying subscribers taken into consideration, although in this game one sorta gets the feeling that the former outweighs the latter), IS has been coddling theirs, and everyone seems to have some warped sense of entitlement. I could care less whether I get L!Ike, or W!Tharja (though she'll probably end up as food), or PA!Azura, or Hector. Any character is welcome, and our support for the game (monetary or otherwise) accounts to practically nil. It's like expecting to get a reward for something that should come naturally to you (i.e, in IS' case, playing this game).
