What to do with M.Robin

I find his statline surprisingly hard to work with. He doesn't have enough atk to pick on slow tanks or to OHKO colourless units/reds that initiate into him; his res is an issue so he needs mystic boost if he wants to tank wrathful healers. If you go full support with chill and double drives, then what does he do when it's his turn? He probably wants swap so that he can make sure everyone gets the buffs, but that prevents him from using draw back to get someone out of trouble at the end of their turn.

Just give him swordbreaker and double drives? But colourless units attacking into him will get danced via WoM. QR?

TA Swordbreaker makes it so he can beat any sword unit with ease. QR seal means he can probably take on Brave Lyn too. He'll lose to Veronica though.

I've been using Bow Breaker on my F!Robin since Bows are generally more popular than Daggers and there isn't a Staff Breaker (ahem... IS...). Before the refine she worked very well against both Lyn and Reinhardt (Provided she got to him first obviously), I haven't changed her B despite running Fury on her A.

I'm thinking that until the Christmas Banner brings Staff Breaker (along with that dreaded Armor Staff so many want) Mystic Boost is probably the "best" option for Robins outside of a full on support role.

Report

Reinhardt's existence and how often he appears with B.Lyn makes F.Robin and every green raven mage significantly different from M.Robin. Reinhardt has pretty bad spd (especially with Dire Thunder) so most raven mages double naturally, and B.Lyn can be covered with a breaker. Raven + TA + bowbreaker is a formula that turns every green mage with half-decent defenses into a relevant meta unit.

Report

Yes, I understand the color difference (Which is why I built up F!Robin instead of M), my point is that Mystic Boost or a fitting Breaker skill are probably the best options for Robins B slot regardless of color, as the other generally underperform compared to other mages they'd be competing against.

I’ve seen a Wolf tome build with DB3 and it works surprisingly well. This was some time ago during a GC. But you can then argue that Micaiah is a thing, Thani has more Mt, effective against Cavalry and she has more Atk than M!Robin.

I have him at +10 with an owltome with res refine, CC+qr and Atk/def bond as seal he can deal very well even against some greens.
Balanced statline shine with merges as they will use every stat they gain, and he is not an exeption, his prf is not that great in my opinion so i went for an Owltome

Report

Ok yes definitely agree that balanced statlines are very good at high investment, but since I'm not planning to go 5*+10 with him (especially when Nowi is one of my only high-merged 5*) and I want to try to get value out of his prf I'm looking for other options

Report

He is indeed hard to work with, but I feel like going full support/raven niche might be best.
As IV, if going with TA, atk might be best. Hitting hard is probably his priority, since he'll often survive reds and archers anyway.

His B can be a breaker skill or qr.

Report

For some more cost, maybe this can work. Especially if you have a team heavy on the drives.

Not sure it's worth the cost, but it's still 37 def unmerged, magic damage works wonders agaist swordfighters.

Jack of all trades and master or none. But you could pair him with green or red that could use his PRF stat boosts, but only one can be infantry as he is infantry which is the downside. He may pair best with armor since most cav and fliers already use hone and fortify.

As for his ABC, I suppose whatever pairs best with the team and what role he needs. I’ve been wondering myself.

Report

He's got a couple options. He can use his native tome and be a buffer unit, or use his tome and be a red/colorless check with TA3 (or both at once, running support skills in his B, C and SS slots). He's also a really good Blarowl tome user. Also, you can run a pretty great DD9 set with Blarserpent with his mixed defenses.

Double drives, or steal a sour Def/Res from Morgan. If you want a big buffer, make that his passive but know he can’t swap or draw back.

Report

To really make use of him, I think a supporter is the best way to go. With his refine and a tactics skill on C and for his seal he can really buff up your team.

I just got one that I plan to use once I have enough damn dew to refine him. Currently he has Triangle Adept, Quick Riposte, Spur atk/spd 2 (I don't have any tactics fodder, sadly) and for seal I'm running def tactic, but I might end up doing res tactic, I haven't decided yet.
