Wanted to show something very unique

The point of this build is to tank AoE specials from the likes of Ophelia supported by dancer. It can also work on F.Morgan.

QR activates if he has at least 30 HP when combat begins (31? Not sure about the rounding).

Ophelia +atk using L&D has 60atk. The ploy brings her down to 55, so blazing AoEs hit for 11 damage, which means QR still activates. She will hit him twice for 1 damage each time (because blarserpent doesn't help him when the blazing special hits but now it does), and she will lose badly when iceberg activates. If both have no merges, his QR will still be good when the dust settles.

That resistance tho.
Is Ophelia that much of a threat to invest that heavily into Oliver tho? I've seen her couple of times but never had any problems taking her down.

I probably wouldn't do this, although it's not absurd if you ask me. Ophelia + dancer can be pretty troublesome if their teammates cover them well

Report

Well dancers makes almost every unit annoying.

I guess so, i just don't remember having much problems with her, it was probably thanks to Nowi at +4 with warding breath or +res fury Sonya.

Is the idea to take out archers as well because if you invest slightly more into defense you could fine more purpose in it I think. Also if it's just enemy phase wouldn't DD3 be better or is there something I'm missing?

Report

Distant def doesn't work against AoE specials. Generally speaking, I do think that's the better option for Oliver, but this one is specifically anti-AoE

He will tank some bows and daggers in a pinch, but it's purely secondary.

Report

That's an AoE special tank.
DD doesnt help at all for tanking AoE specials, since it's damage is purely calculated based on attacker atk and defender res.
