Wait an Everloving Second...Why?
So...I'm of the kind that doesn't care for the game per banner. If it's good it's good...
But dear God...can the fanbase make their mind up for foks sake?
Like, everytime there;'s Fateswakening all I see is fucking salt about why it isn't Fateswakening. But here comes IS with a non Fates or Awakening representative and the salt is still fucking present. How the hell can a fanbase be so angry at the very thing they've asked.
Like goddamn, the salt is real this time. I can't tell why people are so salty. Is it cause they're armor units? Cause I'd half expect you all to expect a few by now. It's like you don't see this coming XD
I really just want IS to do whatever now, just to spite all the haters. Really XD
Eirika is well loved. Sure I don't love her but she doesn't have a seasonal
Ephraim doesn't have a seasonal and he's a cool character.
Cecilia and Fae, namely FE6 needed this.
So can somebody explain to me how the hell the fans are so pissy now?

Yeah that's about what I was thinking as well.
You can be annoyed at armors, sure, you should always expect an armored unit but being salty about that is fine.
But these aren't Fates or Awakening. I love the 3DS era but always say that I'd be okay with other games as well. And well, you can see how apparently the fanbase isn't always happy with there being characters that are different, somehow XD

This is kind of a strawman. We are happy there are no Fates alts. But to say we should be happy just because of that ignores that that is the not only complaint we have, There's also the gender ratio and armored units being spammed that IS is still doing. To say that IS fixed one problem does not mean all of them are fixed leaving nothing to complain about. It's the right direction, but not there yet.
Also I see more complaining about people complaining. This was much less salty than every recent banner and I havent seen this little salt for seasonals since the dancer banner.

Gender Ratio was a problem? Wait wut? I don't think that's a problem. That's how gaccha's usually work. We're lucky they're not all girls considering how gaccha's work, but I digress.
On a side note, you do know armored units are the most underrepresented in the game, right? I know we've been getting alot of them, but they're not overpopulating the game and all the other types of units are doing well so, I really don't see the big deal here.

I barely see gender ratio as a problem in posts so I don't truly think it's such a huge issue. Let's be honest here, this is the lesser of the issue.
Now, whether they're meta or not doesn't equate to them being represented, it equates to them being strong. That has nothing to do with representation.

How strong they are has everything to do with representation. This is how games works. This character is OP, this character is overrepresented in this game. Now if they want to bring a new armored unit in the game and demote them I think we'd be fine but IS doesnt want to do that do they?

Here's the thing, this is the "Stop with armored alts" brand of salt as opposed to the "Fateswakening" brand. Salt can be found in any fanbase really. I'm not salty, but I'm not happy that the banner is mono-armor either. They could have at least put Fae or Eirika on a reindeer or something instead. But that's my take on it.

Because I guess Eirika and Ephraim aren't allowed to have seasonal alts when Innes and Tana got theirs, I guess they don't want us to have our first ever armored staff unit in the game, and I guess they don't care about any game anymore because it's a seasonal banner with ZERO, I repeat, ZERO Fates or Awakening characters, and they're still upset.
This is why the Fire Emblem fanbase is the most toxic. They are never happy no matter what IS does. In fact, I'm calling it right now that they're gonna bitch that Ranulf isn't on the Radiant Dawn banner despite IS FINALLY giving us beast units that look like they're gonna be awesome units if Tibarn is anything to go by (the fact he gained a movement upon transforming, and the fact he transformed outside of combat).
At this point, just ignore the haters and love who you want to love. Me, personally, I'm getting Eirika because I want my armor staff. Don't need Fae, don't need Ephraim, I just want Eirika.

Yeah I've known this for some time. But I was hoping to see less salt around this time (a good look at the reddit mixed with this kinda elaborates on my question).
Realistically though, you're right. I just kinda find it off that the fanbase at times (not everyone mind you) is a bit salty 24/7
Hell we got FE6 representation. XD

I mean.. saying you don't like FatesWakening doesn't mean you love every other character in the franchise, for starters.
Most people dislike this because it's an all armored banner. Expecting a few doesn't equal expecting the very next Christmas banner to be practically identical to the first mistake.

1. All armors. A lot of people expected something more creative, and a lot of people hate armored units.
2. No Fateswakneing, but the real problem there was that the alts were concentrated heavily on a few characters. A lot of people are upset because IS is ignoring their favorite characters for ones that already have multiple alts. We would see similar outrage, probably even more, if Lyn and Hector replaced Ephraim and Eirika.

The community isn't monolithic, it's made up of individuals. Every differing or conflicting opinion you hear is coming from an individual in said community. Thus, no, the community cannot make up its mind. They will always have different needs and desires, there's no sweeping consensus or agreement. Some don't want characters from certain games and will be vocal about it, others will share concerns about the meta, etc. Due to this, no matter what content is offered up to the community, there will always (read: ALWAYS) be people whose personal expectations weren't met. This doesn't make them "hayturz", it's just a simple fact of life, you can't cater to everyone, and don't assume that all criticism comes from one homogeneous group consistently. I hope this cleared things up for you.
