Wacky/fun units to build

I'm as hyped as everyone here for CYL 2, but I wanted to discuss something different.

I found a +Atk / -Spd Cherche in my barracks, looked up her level 40 stats, and began theorizing builds in my head. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the new units IS puts out, but I've yet to try something creative with a character less popular in the meta.

In the first build, I decided to make a bulky anti-armor/anti-melee:

Slaying Hammer+ (def refine)
Reposition
Moonbow
Fury 3
Guard 3
Panic Ploy 3 (once I have extra)
QR3 seal

Before flier/tactics buffs, that adds up to 51 HP, 58 Atk (effective on armor), 25 Spd, 39 Def, 19 Res. That's on top of delaying powerful opponent specials.

For the second, I decided to make a slightly more offensive and risky build:

Slaying Hammer+ (def refine)
Reposition
Moonbow
Fury 3
Desperation 3
Panic Ploy
Brash Assault seal

The main idea is to tank a hit or two, get into brash assault range, then start destroying everything in sight.

I know these builds aren't perfect, but I enjoyed building and using them quite a bit. Can't wait to start merging her as well. Any feedback would be appreciated as well!

DB3 works just as well figured I'd throw in 4 just cuz, assist and c skill make what ever

Finding uses for skills I don’t like. Was talking to a friend and said do sweep skills, so I created two builds for two units

Athena (+Atk or +Spd/-Hp)

Phantom Speed

Ever wanna break Face and not get hit, well not you can

You hate dragons or mages in arena? Now hit them for free and debuff them and their friends so your allies can finish them off

Clarisse's bow AND spd smoke? You must really hate their spd.

The atk and spd of dragons usually isn't an issue; most dragons have pretty average stats in that regard. I'd probably just go firesweep + def or res smoke and sweep everybody. I can keep my B-slot to chill the other defensive stat.

On the Athena build why not desperation? Brazen gives a lot of stats with good quad potential.

My Friend and I choose to challenge each other to build certain units to pass the boredom. I was told to try to build around the sweep skills, so are the builds optimal for the units? Probably not. Are they wacky and/or fun? Yes

I see. Why not windsweep on Clarisse then? Stuff like DC Ayra , for instance. And on Athena the watersweep, because she can then focus on increasing damage instead of phantom spd, because she's fast enough even without it vs dragons despite the brave sword

I guess you have a point. Athena would work better with Watersweep than wind, but I think I’d keep Watersweep on clarisse because most of the teams I end up using in arena are responsive/enemy phase units like my Spring Xander who can tank Ayra pretty well, I’d much rather have Clarisse debuff the mages and dragons who would have an easier time dealing with my more defensively based tank units

I've built the free 5* Bartre I got off the daily banners a week or two ago. You might like to use this for ideas for your Cherche building.

IV: I'll merge into +atk -res, possibly at 4*
Slaying hammer+spd (!)
Luna (bonfire is also good, but I'm content with his atk stat)
Death blow 3 (this is a budget build!)
Axebreaker 3

The rest is variable but I'll probably go squad ace atk+1 seal because I have more important seals to work on. I don't even have close def 2 seal.

The point here is that I expect him to OHKO any blue armour, and green armours I will always double. Axebreaker will double through Thunder Armads and wary fighter if he has the spd, and he will with the spd refine and enough merges (even at 4*).

Brash desperation I want to save for regular Micaiah.

As for uncommon units to build, there's the Cloud Maiougi Jakob build I made (if you want to look it up, go through the "questions I've asked" in my profile and look for "Old Dagger Units, New Life"), the brazen atk/spd glimmer build that I submitted to Kaze's character page (people are ignoring him for no good reason), the build I submitted to Jagen's character page, and the firesweep troll build I made with seal atk/spd (in "questions I've asked" look for "Tactical Tomfoolery"), ideal for someone like Soleil but doable on more obscure characters such as Laslow. You can also look at my question on building duelist statlines for sustainability, where I look at characters such as Ogma and Barst, or my study titled "Ignis" on statlines that look like 35/25/35/15 which applies to characters such as Laslow.

I'm in the works of finishing my Beruka. Her entire gimmick is just to not take any physical damage and proc Ignis instead of dealing consistant damage.

I use her on my flier team, which gets her up to (currently) 66 def when attack with max buffs/spurs. Its even better when she's on a defensive tile. Sure she may not be the best, but its always fun watching a powerful sword not do any damage then get smited by my beruklear bomb.
