Wacky idea for grima robin

So I have been thinking of doing something different to build my +atk -hp robin. Instead of expiration I would switch with res refined lightning breath and have fury in A slot. SS would be res +3. This would make robin without buffs and no merge have 50hp 59atk 38def 37res. With armor emblem and a ninian with fortify dragons he hits 65atk 44def 43 res. What do you guys think?

I think it's kinda a waste of resources. If you run that set, but keep Expiration, then he'd have what, 40 resistance? The extra 3 resistance and 5 hp, in my opinion, is not worth switching Expiration with Lightning Breath.

Not really worth it. Have you ran it in a sim and noticed any key battles that he wins/survives while not losing victories in other key battles? If you are thinking arena def he will still die to falchion. The -1 to special from lightning breath ruins a lot of the timing on his abilities too, and if you wanted to use aether to sustain the fury chip you can't rely on the +1 charge each time he attacks because you don't have steady/warding breath.

IMO, if you want something gimmicky, try Vantage since you have +atk. With 44 base and 16 from weapon, you can throw fierce stance on the A slot and Atk+3 in the seal to get to 69 attack on enemy phase without buffs. Since dragon weapons target the lower of def or res, not many enemies will survive attacking him once his health goes below 75%.

Against all Colorless, Green, and Blue foes with Fury and +10 merges, the stats come to 86 wins · 41 losses · 25 draws, if Robin is at 30/45 health to proc the vantage.

If he gets S summoner support and S ally support with a hone dragons/armor buff placing him at +6 attack, this changes to 133 wins · 3 losses · 16 draws. This is at 0 merges and no blessings, so very easily achievable. He also wins against 4/16 red mages (Remember, neutral, fury, and +10 merges), and leaves 6 others with 1 hp (and remember, most of the mages are going to be -hp or -def to preserve their attack/spd, so those 6 will likely lose due to taking 3 more damage from having lowered def.) The gimmick is real.

He comes with vengeful fighter so I don't need vantage. I can just put bonfire instead of ignis and sacrifice some special damage to compensate for +1

Just no, man. Taking super lightning breath and trading it down for regular lightning breath is not wise.

You could wait 5 days, run expiration and the free warding breath that we get, and pass glimmer. You’ll double proc glimmer and since +atk glimmer will definitely do something good. It’s generally optimal special charge damage with breath and even vengeful fighter in itself. That’s what I’m doing anyway.
