L!Ike vs Zelgius

Unmerged, which is better on a mixed emblem team? My main team I use for in-game content consists of Nowi, Male Grima, and PA!Azura, and until now I’ve used a +def/-hp legendary Ike with summoner support. But then I got a +def/-res Zelgius that I’m willing to build with steady breath and bold fighter, so I’m not sure whether to switch out Ike with Zelgius. If I ultimately decide not to use Zelgius with my main team, I won’t give him steady breath and bold fighter. I just wanted some feedback about whether or not I should invest in Zelgius and begin to use him over Ike. Thanks!

Ike is free, and comes with a breath skill, as well as isnt hindered by movement type. But, it's mixed emblem, you want torun tactics... so zelgius for that, if you swap out another hero to get tactics, go for it

L!Ike = 37/36/30/38/21
Zelgius = 46/36/33/41/18

Depends on who you prefer. Zelgius has more HP, speed, and defense, but less resistance than your L!Ike. However, he's an armored unit, and not everyone likes using armored units, but you seem like you're willing to put up with it already (you have M!Grima on the team).

I vote for Zelgius.

I have both unmerged, so I feel like I have a decent perspective on their comparison. Ike is neutral, I added Steady Breath + QR3 and the Close Defense seal. As for Zelgius, +Atk/-Spd IV’s and the only skill I’ve given him outside of his base kit is Rally Atk/Def assist skill and switch between Close Def + QR3 seals. Zelgius feels more powerful overall even though he is far less invested, Warp Powder helps him get around a lot easier in mixed teams as well. If I were to add say, Bold Fighter 3 and Steady Breath to Zelgius, I feel like it wouldn’t even be a competition as to who is better

One other point: Ike is a legendary hero, so he can buff the rest of your party. If you're going to give the party Earth blessings anyway, you should factor in that HP & Atk bonus into his effective BST. (And I guess divide by two, because half of the time it's not Earth season.)

I tend to think that Ike is better for a mixed team, but not by a huge margin. Since you've already invested in him, I'd stick with him.

I think L! Ike is more survive/defensive than zelgius: Radiant Aether + Quick Ripost + Warding Breath make him almost invicible against melee unit.

Now Zelgius is much more offense, he can't heal yourself like Ike but he will kill or barely kill anyone he touch.

Now it's depend which type of player you are: Offense? Defensive? If you are offense, Zelgius for sure, now if you are defensive, L! Ike without doubt.
