Viability of Refined Zephiel?

I love Zephiel and I really want to make him work for my armour team but I'm not sure if his refinement is enough to replace my BK.

While Zephiel outshines BK in every stat barring spd, BK has DC built-in which frees up his A slot and he also doesn't have to rely on wary-fighter to avoid doubles. Zephiel is undoubtedly more tankier, but without much of an offensive presence I can't justify replacing BK.

Any ideas that could make Zephiel worth it over BK? Preferably one that makes use of his eckesachs?

Many people have been giving him Distant Defense A and S slot to make him even tankier, combining it with his Distant Defense weapon refinement. While he doesn't have Distant Counter, a unit doesn't need it to be good.

This could work. I don't have a DC-fodder Hector for Zeph, so I was debating whether to try him, but turning him into not a counter, but JUST bait, and have a sweeper clean up is an interesting idea.

He'll still have a hell of a time dealing with blue mages (esp. Reinhardt), but so does BK.

With Wary Fighter he should legit survive anything not maxed out Reinhardt or Micaiah (or Anti-Armor Lance users that are already strong).
If you don't have any other Legendary Refinements planned, then go for it! It's definitely one of the better refinements.
