I FINALLY got a Hinoka the other day, meaning I can at last do proper Flier Emblem. I have two good candidates to get it: Michalis and Valter. (Need it to go to someone tanky.)
Both of them have almost identical stats and a nifty prf weapon. Valter's a touch faster with a smidge less defense and attack (compensated for by his weapon). However Michalis gets Iote's Shield natively, and Valter would take chip damage from his weapon, which would limit his tanking capabilities.
Leaning towards Michalis, currently. Other members of Team Fliers are +atk Brave Axe Cherche, Blarblade+ Summer Corrin, and Palla. I guess it depends on whether I want to double up on blues or greens.
Michalis almost rely on having QR to work efficiently (even if i use him with Lunge and works well enough). Valter can become whatever you want him to be. It comes down if you want a hero with Fury 2 into the weapon with also a killer weapon ability or someone who has the weapon with the killer weapon ability without having to sacrifice 4 hp each time he's in combat
As a general rule, I think doubling up on Greens is slightly better. Blues are incredibly common in the arena and reds are slightly less common. That said, both options are great. I have more experience using Michalis than Valter and one thing I can say about Michalis is that his damage is pretty lacking if you use Iotes Shield.
Edit: I've found more success using Fury on Michalis, so you may have better luck with Valter given his Lance's built in fury. The chip factor from fury is negligible in arena anyways.
