Dragon Fang at a charge of 3 (counting his lance) will provide a massive power spike of 26 added damage. Bonfire with this build offers 17 burst power at only a charge of 2 and given his raw power to start (even more with flier buffs) this severe boost with Dragon Fang's 50% boost seems like equally severe overkill.

The Renewal helps offset his 10 damage per round thing (even if it's only healed every other) but it won't offset the real damage he takes in battle so his engagement limits are still very real. My personal preference with Fury Valter is Vantage because it's the same power as a +atk Hector Vantage (just without the distant counter) so if he attacks first and gets hit back (only melee people doubling him on return are glass canon sword lords which he laughs at), he'll have a charged Bonfire for the first vantage trigger, nearly guaranteed to obliterate the fool if he's getting Flier buffs or fighting swords.

IMO the Renewal is lackluster at it's job without it being a round between each time he fights and Dragon Fang is the highest overkill he could have.
