Upgrading heroes to 5*

As per usual i have doubts on who to upgrade to 5*. Relying on you guys's opinion:

F!Takumi (Spd Smoke, duh... or maybe merge)
1 of 2 Legion (Inheriting his weapon to W!Lissa and NY!Azura)
1 of 3 Xander (Because Merging)
1 of 2 Clarisse (Same as Xander)
Robin (F) (Mostly catalog purposes)
Valter (Same as Xander)
Masked Marth (Same as Xander)
Gerome (Poleaxe+ foddering)
Marisa (Infantry Pulse 3 foddering)
Arden (Catalog)
Zephiel (Catalog)
Oliver (Catalog and memes)
Anna (Mostly Catalog, but i wanted to use her since i'm starting to work on her a bit)
Alfonse (Same as Anna)
+ Def - Spd Soleil (Mostly going for Firesweep Sword+ foddering on Hana)
+ HP - Atk Maria (Merging. And fun fact: she has the opposite IVs of the one i already have at 5*)
+ Atk - Res Hana (Always wanted one and this is my first one with decent/optimal IVs)
+ Spd - Atk Nino (she has been my powerhouse for a long time with the Fury Desperation build)
+ Spd - Res Eirika (Catalog mostly)
+ Atk - Res Raven (Interest in his LnD 6 build)
+ Atk - Res Corrin (F) (Catalog mostly but i kinda like her)
+ Atk - Def Titania (Catalog mixed with interest. She'll be the one to inherit the Poleaxe+ from Gerome)

I vote Alfonse. Occasional arena bonus unit and we can pretty much guarantee that he'll EVENTUALLY get a weapon refinery upgrade. Plus we always get those occasional quests requiring someone of the Askr Trio to KO some certain unit.

My next vote would be Raven because I think he's an underrated green unit.

Raven is underrated...? I thought everyone loved Raven now that he got Basilikos + Life and Death 3/Fury for one of the ultimate glass cannon builds.

If any of them are for arena use, prioritize them. Even if the fodder/merge is going to your arena core, prioritize them. Merges in general are the next I would care about, then general fodder, then catalog.

Yeah, I agree. Cataloging isn't the most important; imo just get some merges in. The other thing to consider is that Anna and Alphonse are common Arena Bonus units, so they might be worthwhile too once you get merges worked on.

It really depends on what you want.
For sheer combat usefulness:
Zephiel is amazing if you don't have the BK or Zelgius
Raven is a real powerhouse with that IV, though I'd go with Fury+LnD combo (otherwise he'll be 1 shot too easily)
Of course merging Valter or Xander might be fine too if you're not in a hurry to expand your roster.

Gotta say though that throwing limited units away feels wierd to me, but that's your choice.

I upgrade my 4*'s to 5*'s when I pull a 5* version of the same character. Then I merge to create a 5*+1. Feathers are scarce. I'm also more likely to upgrade 4*'s to make 5*+2, etc.

I don't go by Tier Lists. I go by luck of the draw. Unfortunately, I drew a 5* Peri.
