units safe to send home;
hi! i'm just curious about which units are safe to send home... i don't exactly want to use gems on expanding my barracks :( and i know there are some 3 stars worth keeping- so in general... are there even any units safe to send home?

People will scare you about sending units home, but don't lose too much sleep over it. Yes, Feliicia isn't "safe to send home" because she has Breath of Life 3 at 4 stars, but do you really envision needing BoL 3 for 5 different units for example.
Keep any 4 star versions of these characters btw. You can always merge any extras together for some stand in units in chain challenges and Arena Assault.
The safe to send home list IMO: Raigh, Felicia (keep maybe 2 for Breath of Life 3), Est, Beruka, Virion, Corin (M), Fir, Oboro, Saizo (keep maybe 1 or 2 for Poison Strike 3, but it's only useful on a handful of builds)
Excess 3 star healers are generally safe to send home as well, though not all of them. And don't forget you can burn fodder units freely so you can transfer more higher tier versions of skills off of 4/5 star units onto another unit. (ex: I used a Seliph to get Brash Assault 1 & 2 onto my Lyn so I could take Fury 1 & 2 along with Brash Assault 3 off of Barte).

Pretty much agree with all of this. I would maybe keep 1 Raigh copy on the off chance you need to give someone Rally Attack or give a healer HP+.
Other than that, I would say if you have more than say 2 copies at 3* of purely fodder units, send them home freely. Exceptions would be any units with movement-type C Skill buffs, Fury/L&D/Vantage/QR Fodder, and units with useful widely-useful specials (Moonbow/Luna/Glacies/Ignis/Bonfire/Drac Aura/Iceberg)
