Units in need of a prf weapon/refine

Which units, in your opinion, are in desperate need of a new weapon and/or a refine?

My gut reaction is F!Corrin, Joshua and Valter, but honestly those units perform okay on their own. A refine would make them better for sure, but they aren't really in the "unusable" or "completely powercrept" category in my opinion. Currently, they're just very mediocre (plus two of them already have prfs).

Here's some units I've been thinking about for a while:
-Seliph
-Cain/Abel
-Matthew
-Saizo
-Lucius
-Azama

Why would Lucius and Azama need a prf/refine when Dazzling Pain+ Savage Blow 6 is already broken.

Everyone with a Gem weapon (Preferably a non-gem prf, but that's asking too much I know).

Report

Pain + Savage blow is ridiculous, sure, but I think with time IS will release new units/skills that will shut that build down. In a recent datamine someone found a skill which nullifies "no counter-attacks" skills, but we obviously have no idea when or how that skill will be introduced. Also, Eir's C skill exists.

And yeah, gem weapons are bad. I don't think any sort of refine will save them. It's so bad that people are running cancel affinity on Palla just to give her new weapon more options.

Report

The problem with that is that they'll just use it as a way to make money (5* lock it, and really you can't blame them for that from a business perspective). Unfortunately that means that the impact on Dazzling Pain+Savage is going to be minimal. Eir being given for free does help the Savage Pain issue a bit, but really all she does is nullify the Pain part.

True. I may be a bit too optimistic. IS likes their 5* paywalls.

The main thing I'm looking for is a reason to use infantry healers. Cavalry healers get movement and emblem buffs, and so do fliers. Now there are Armored healers who have access to the broken fighter skills. Prfs would hopefully help infantry healers keep up.

Report

I agree for all other infantry healers (give them something to not go the Pain+ route, though I've seen plenty of Veronica's running it, so it's a tough nut to crack).

Report

Well my go to answer was Catria, and she finally got one!

So maybe Cecilia, and basically any healer would be nice to see given a prf. I wouldn't use said healer cause of Halloween Mia, but if Brave Veronica and Loki can have prfs why can't the old healers get any?

Report

I agree. Healers are already an extremely gimmicky class, so adding some prfs couldn't hurt anything. All of the absorb, pain, and gravity builds will still exist. Just gives players more options.

Dagger units just need some help, honestly. There are a few exceptional ones, such as Ylgr and H!Kagero, but all of the Gen 1 daggers are generally trash.

Someone suggested a while back that all daggers should have Close Counter, and I don't know if I agree or not. It seems to be a bit too late to make such a drastic change honestly. Hopefully IS works a miracle (lol).

Report

I always thought daggers should have a set of exclusive skills centenred around dealing a whole lot of effects together (Like Vantage 2 + poison strike 2)

But if I had to pick one to get it, it would be Jacob. I would love it for him to have a pure support dagger.

Report

Jacob is the perfect unit for a support dagger. Not exactly sure what that would look like since dagger debuffs are technically supportive, but there's endless possibilities.

As much as I want to say Joshua and Marisa for being my fav..

Seth.

SETH.

I don't even care if he gets a weapon which grants him +10 or +20 to all stats. He IS supposed to be a monster.
