understanding voting gauntlet

so when battling I have one my unit, and two from random players, is that right?
How is it chosen which of my unit other players get when playing? I don't want to give other players a bad unit.
And I now lost two matches because beruka, oboro, eliwood and the likes of them. Just why? They were 4 stars! And not even merged

You give other players the unit that you have in the first slow of team one. You know how each team is numbered 1-10 in the “edit team” screen? If you go to your first team, the very first unit on that team is the unit you give. You can tell who it is because when you go to your home page, that unit will be standing at the top of the steps.

Honestly you wouldn’t believe how long it took me to figure this out lol...

You usually have your own unit, a friend who's on the same team's unit, and a random unit from someone on the same team. Naturally if none of your friends are supporting your team or you don't have any friends, you'll get two random players' units.

As the person above stated, your castle representative is going to be sent out.

A tip for you: keep a strong unit as your castle rep to send to friends, but enter a gauntlet battle with a level one unit. That way, you get your friends lvl 40 units but very weak lvl 1 enemies, which is a guaranteed win. There's no reward for fighting fair so don't do it, it'll be a lot more frustrating if you try to.

The unit on your 1st slot.
Your friends 1st unit on his 1st slot.
some random players 1st unit on his 1st slot.

Usually for Voting Gauntlets like these, I temporarily switch out my favorite character for someone with great usefulness like Dark Azura.

My very first run ended up being 2 Ayras and one normal Henry. It was not good, but still managed somehow despite going up against a team of Blue units.
