1. Got pity broken by a -Atk Micaiah while summoning for brides today. Already have a Micaiah so I'm guessing that using her for DD fodder is better than merging?
2. How necessary is it for Lyn (LA) to use Close Counter? Considering foddering my free neutral Takumi to her but would like to know if other units might be a better pick.
Yes, I'd say using her as fodder is far more beneficial, but don't use it on just anyone. By mindful of your choices, and if nothing really works, don't do it. Save her for later.
While LA!Lyn is a fine choice for CC, I feel it is always a waste when you give such a useful skill to anyone that isn't a healer. Granted, you're looking at a heavy I but these units are game changers.
1. Distant Defense is still a very premium skill that a lot of units can make great use of, so yes, save her until you have a unit that needs it for a build.
2. It is not absolutely necessary, but if you plan on giving her Owl, it is definitely optimal. Otherwise, utilizing Blarblade is the only way for her to really be offensive (Defense builds are just so much more powerful on her), and Blarserpent is a way to make her a range tank if you happen to have an extra Morgan (You could actually give the Micaiah to her, if you wanted to invest into her that much). CC + Olw is what I have on mine and I can't say that I can imagine her working quite the same with any other set, but it really just depends on your play style.
