For AR, I think I'd prefer either Windsweep or Watersweep. Lightning Breath dragons and DC (armored) units are way too common in that game mode, and his speed, defense/resistance, and HP are not high enough to avoid instant death.

His refine has magic immunity. That’s why the classic vantage set up exists on him

True, but not all teams run mages. I've encountered plenty that were just armored units. In that case, he'll need some way to make himself useful in some way since he dies faster than you can say "Angel of Death".

That’s too niche for me Od rather use a healer at that point. Armor scrub comps use Myrhh or Tiki now

But why would I use a healer if I like Jaffar?

And I don't think it's anymore Niche than what he already has. If anything it lets him cover more than what he covers already.

His dagger lets him attack mages safely, Windsweep lets him attack DC units safely, and DC units are a hefty portion of the units in 'PvP' gamemodes. How exactly is making him counter both mages and DC units even more niche than just him countering mages?

Very true, it ain't perfect.
He's nice to have on a team, but having a plan for when the enemy has that is good.
