Trilemma - Double Edged Staff

Thoughts on Trilemma? To me it hurts as much as it helps with its TA effect, even tanky units who shouldn't fear the triangle too much can then have issues when the enemy now has a 40% boost to attack.

Which leads to Maribelle. I got an off focus +Spd -Def a couple of months ago and I've realised I have a 5* Lucius sitting around doing nothing since I got him way before the + version of staffs were a thing. I'm assuming it's a safe bet that I should just give Maribelle Pain+ and Savage Blow (if I ever get a Camilla, started doing her as a 5* merge 3 months ago, got 1 since).

you are not simply use trilemma on normal party.
the point of trilemma is creating a whole advantageous situation for you.
try put cancel affinity on your tank, watch he tank everything while destroying his WTA.
with cancel affinity, assuming you are blue, you have 140% damage boosted to red, 100% to blue/green/colorless.

In my opinion the concept for Trilemma is decent but the problem is that it faces too much competition, healers have so many good staffs available that are much less situational and will give better results overall, mainly Pain+ and Gravity+, also things like Absorb+ and Fear+ are very solid options

I think Trilemma is too gimmicky to use it in actual combat. I run my Maribelle, who is also +Spd -Def (best IVs for her btw), with Gravity+. But I think the Pain/Savage combo is viable for any healer, especially if you're not using that Lucius.

I have a +Spd -Res Elise running her Gravity and double Savage Blow, she's so good with it but best not to have them in direct competition.

I don't like TA, just like I don't like any skill that's as likely to hurt you in a random matchup as help you. It's so situational. Sure, it can be really useful to equip occasionally, when you know who you're fighting and know it will help you, but it's crap as a standard thing to always have on the unit, as far as I'm concerned. Same goes for Trilemma, for the same reason.

When I got a Maribelle, I foddered my Mist to her so that she'd have a 5-star-level weapon (even if it's not her ideal one) that wasn't Trilemma. I haven't even built up enough SP on her to buy Trilemma, because it's so low priority for me.

So, personally, I think Trilemma is a crap weapon except in very specific circumstances. (And Cancel Affinity is a good counterpoint to it, but it's a skill that's not very easy to get, so it can hardly be relied on. Any skill/weapon that requires an additional uncommon skill/weapon to work effectively is still, IMO, crap.)
