Thoughts on the Summoning nowadays (Banners since the 2.4 Update)

How are your summons going on banners after the summoning changes?

I want to start a discussion on this to see what people think of it.

My thoughts are that the demotion of most of the unnecessary 4 to 5 stars and 4-3 stars is welcome in terms of certain unit availability and skill inheritance. For example, Klein and Roy are some of the more sought out units for skill inheritance (unless they have good IV spreads).

On the other side, how often are you guys (F2P, Dolphins, and Whales) getting 5 stars on banners? For me, I feel like it takes longer to finally get a 5 star hero. It could also be up to luck.

For example, I am at a 4.75 % appearance rate on the Thracia banner and I have not gotten a 5 star yet (pulling for Leif and Green Olwen as of now).

These are my thoughts and observations, but what about yours?

Some banners just are really unlucky for some people. It took me ages for the banner with Green Robin (Grima) to even get one and not even with the best IV's. But this Banner has given me 2 five stars in the span of 60 Orbs. I wouldn't consider myself a whale, but I do spend money on this game. Sometimes you are unlucky but don't be sad about one banner if it doesn't work out try using another banner and see if it gives you better luck. BTW don't spend your orbs on one unit they will appear again or completely out of nowhere. For instance I was pulling for a Green unit on a banner after Grima robin, Hardin banner etc. and I got a Green Robin with relatively good IV's.

I like the new 3* 4* summons because since I try not to spend money on app games its really nice to be able to summon someone and know that I'll have enough to fully merge them later.

I have 5*+10 Eliwood and Priscilla
and I'm on my way to completing Reinhardt

and I chose these characters because I could reliably summon them instead of wishing I could merge Zelgius or Fjorm or Dorcas, all of which I only have 1 of.

Sadly its way easier to Promote units than to summon characters I actually want to use.

Well, I agree with the SI part, but it seems like you've just been getting unlucky with summons, the amount of orbs or time to get a 5* hasn't changed.

Maybe it's just me, but what I have been getting as fodder HAS been worthwhile like Klein, Barst, and Fae. It's not such a bummer as of now.

I also noticed it while I was messing around on the summon simulators.

The fodder has become way more common, which is nice. I do wish Kelin had stayed at 5* available though, because a free Brave Bow+, DB3, or QR3 is something I always enjoy.

In my case, since the fix, I've been getting significantly more 5* actually, so maybe I've been getting super lucky maybe. The 5* rate still hasn't changed, unless IS slipped a secret little tweak in during the update.

I can't really make big comparisons since the change currently affects only the Thracia and TT banners if I'm not mistaken and I haven't really summoned much on either, actually just the free shot on TT (Sully, 4* >_<) and a few more pokes at Thracia (nothing).

But yeah in theory it's good to have more chances at nice fodder.

I'm F2P and can't say I'd noticed any real pattern to how often 5* appear/have appeared, there's been a few banners where I got nothing and then those like Tiki & Nowi where I pulled a terrible IV Adult Tiki right with the first and only pull.

I've gotten fairly lucky, getting 3 Swordhardts who had progressively better IVs until th last one was +atk/-Spd. Pulled a few Chrom(Aether Fodder) and a few Effie(merge) as well as a large number of Abel(swordbreaker fodder) so I really can't complain.

Thracia was horrible for me worst banner i have summoned from since i started, my rate spiked up to 5 for the 1st time ever the most i ever got to was 4

I haven't done much summoning since the update as I'm saving my orbs for the upcoming B8 Banner, but I did do a full session on the Thracia banner and got a WT!Olwen and Klein and this morning got regular Olwen on a free summon.

Sadly both Olwen had -Atk IV's but I can't be mad when I spent practically nothing to get them. I've been happy overall with my summons.

It's probably about the same, but it's less likely to get a pity breaker you didn't want with most if the 4 or 5 star heroes demoted. I got an Aim on the TT banner at like 3.25%.
