Thinking about the 4* and 5* Banners and the Summoning Pool

I was wondering, do you think IS could fix the Summoning Pool that way? Giving us a chance to pull some 5* exclusives as 4* like Karel and Julia or even outright demote them permanently to add variety to the 4* pool?

That's wishful, but it's most likely just gonna be like the 4 and 5 star banner we had a while back near the end of January I think.

I love Julia too much to see her get demoted to a 4*, but at the same time it also means I can complete my dream of making a +10 best girl Julia.

I think that the most likely way for them to «fix» the summoning pool would be limiting the characters you can pull during a banner.
Instead of the 50ish 5* units, only feature 20-30, distributed equally by colors. New banners could feature the most recent 10 5* for each color and skill/vg/tt banners feature the rest. They could even group them by game, theme or something entirely up to them.
The current 4* banner is defenetely not the solution.

Somehow I feel like making units 4*s actually makes it harder to whale them into 5*+10s. I mean, you can't buy feathers and those are handed out in measured amounts. I don't understand at all why IS won't just demote a ton of the older units (or units like Merric; he'd be fine as a 3* too). IDK man.

Some units aren’t worth whaling. Karel is notably worse than some 3* and 4* accessible sword users. Merric is the black sheep of green tomes. Clair is a unit that was most likely inspired from the song “anything you can do, I can do better” as the lesser entity in said song. Peri is the same case, and does not feature anything special at 5* that cannot be found on other units at the same summoned rarity. I could keep going, but you probably see my point.

They won’t change pitybreakers out of the name of gacha. That’s why it’s called that; they “got you” hooked into dropping orbs, and they can make you want to spend money on trying to max out beloved characters. And the land mines in that field are pitybreakers, can’t have a gamble without risk.

Julia is too good to demote her. She’s a true dragon slaying beast, capable of killing any unmerged dragon in one hit (with the exception of TA reds). Deirdre would be a better demotion choice, as IS could have her be the first QR3 4* unit (no way they give us ploy skills under 5* like that).

As for your question, it may be a while before we see pitybreakers moved/lessened. The banner coming out is probably just going to feature certain units, rather than featuring and changing their rarity.

If IS run out of fodder then demoting units for fodder sounds like a good idea but yeah, it's the second banner like this so it may take a while.

And we don't know which units will appear there but I'm thinking that's a good way for them to fix the Summoning Pool while attracting people to spend money, specially if it's good fodder/merge material.
