TFW giving Reinhardt 2 extra speed actually makes a difference

So most of us know that the AI will move toward the character it feels is its most favorable match-up, and that changing your strategy can change how the AI moves. But I've never noticed such a small change making such a crucial difference before and I thought it was fascinating, so I thought I'd share.

The following screenshots were both taken at the beginning of turn 4 of Lyon's Infernal GHB. The moves I made and the character builds were identical between the two; the only difference is that Reinhardt has the atk +2 seal on the left and the speed +2 seal on the right. The bow cavalryman has 24 speed, so on the right, since he can't double Reinhardt anymore, he decides to move toward Nino and Azura instead. This was the difference between winning and losing the map for me - the situation in the left screenshot leads to Reinhardt and Olivia getting overwhelmed and dying, while the right side is more equal and can lead to a win.

(I'm also sharing because I'm super pumped that I beat this map, that was challenging!)

The second screenshot led to a win? Nice! =) Gives hope to people like myself who are still scratching their heads over this.

Thanks, it was pretty sweet! While there are probably other ways to do it, I found the double-nuke-double-dancer strat to be the best for me. My boyfriend also beat it with two nukes and two dancers, but he said he sent all four to the left side. (I tried sending four units to the left at one point and had trouble because I lacked the room to maneuver, but his nukes were Reinhardt and B!Roy, so having two horses is probably what made the difference there.)

The map wasn’t horrible. All I used was Celica, Olivia, Fjorm, and Elise. The only caveats were that because my Fjorm ran a +ATK-RES, I needed to not only give her SPD+3 seal but also slap a spur res 1 seal on my Elise. Otherwise, a F2P Olivia, a Fury/desperation Celica, and a wrathful dazzle Elise with a base kit beyond that was all I needed. Placement was key.

Yeah, placement definitely mattered. The other big difference-maker for me was making sure Olivia and Reinhardt are exactly where they are in the screenshot at the end of turn 3 - normally the sword armor dude spawns where Olivia is, but since she's in the way, he spawns in front of Reinhardt instead, which made it easier for me.

Yeah, I had to run through a couple tries before I was able to win, but overall it wasn’t too bad. Not as easy as Oliver’s GHB, that was a cakewalk when I ran flier emblem.

I've honestly already forgotten exactly how I beat Oliver, though I think it involved baiting with Fae. It was definitely easier than this though. ;)

I played with a Bladetome team (Eirika/Nino/PA!Azura/Linde) and I played in Lunatic sending my units to the right side, losing. I switched to the left and after some tries I won, then when I was playing in Infernal it was EASIER thanks to enemy placement. The reason? I was using Nino with Desperation 3, being a primary target. I switched to Vantage 3 and somehow the enemy units moved in a way where every one of them were in range to get attacked while my units were repositioned to safety. That little change made me use only one Stamina Potion and I got excited how I completed Infernal that easily just by manipulating the AI with their skills priorities.
