Team building help.

Ive been having major trouble with both arena defence and arena offence lately.
But, just focusing on arena DEF, what should I use?
I've got: (Assume all are 5*)
Ogma +def -res
Alm +res -spd
Eirika +atk, -res
Leo +def, -spd
Lukas +spd, -hp
Spring Xander +spd, -atk
Catria +hp -res
Cordelia +hp -atk
Ninnian +res -def
Linde +hp -res
Nino +atk -res
Klein +atk -hp
Jaffar neutral

My current team for defence is Ninian, Linde, Eirika and Nino. But, they have yet to win ANYTHING at all which is disappointing as hell...
Also, just to be sure, but the DEF team that opponent's face off, is my team's 1st roster right?

Not mentioned on the list, but consider upgrading Zephiel when you can, 'cause he really benefits from the defensive terrain addition. I have him on my defense team, that I'm trying to rework, next Azura, Linde and Camilla and he's most likely the reason why I already have 2 victories this season.

Choosing from your list (without inheritance) I would go for the same team as you are running now. Maybe swap linde for jaffar or klein, considering you have a dancer (even though linde is a beast). Klein or jaffar have a large potential for causing trouble imho and they can kill at least one of the opposing team members without being easily countered by hector bait.

And the def team is the first one, that appears on your team selection, so yeah, you understand that correctly.
