Taking bets.

Who wants to wager that Clair's upcoming Rhomphaia will be effective against Armor (Armorcrusher) and Cavalry (Knightkneeler)?

I'd be okay with that. My Clair could use the bonus damage.

Clair needs a bit of love. She's a little lacking even with an Attack boon (which I have I believe), so this will be somewhat nice if your guessing is on point.

I dunno...

The Rhomphaia (Japanese: ロムファイア Rhomphaia) is a lance which was introduced in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Its stats are mediocre and unremarkable, aside from its minor boost to its user's critical hit rate, but it gives its user access to a wide selection useful of combat arts which add effectiveness against cavalry and infantry, and the ability to use the wielder's speed stat to increase damage output.

The skills it grants are Armorcrush (eff. against Armor), Knightkneeler (eff. against Cavalry), and Dragonhaze (Speed added to Attack).

While Dragonhaze could possibly be an effect on Clair's new Rhomphaia, the explicit presence of Armorcrush and Knightkneeler are why I'm taking the bet.

It seems very likely that Rhomphaia will be the lance equivalent of Ceada‘s Wing Sword. In Echoes the weapon has two combat arts that are effective against armors and cavaliers. It also had Dragonhaze, which added the users speed stat to their attacking power. Flashing Blade is based on speed, so it‘s likely to be the special refinement option.

I know the abilities, that's why I'm taking bets. :3

I never considered the use of Flashing Blade as an equivalent for Dragonhaze. That's rather inspired, actually. And it would fit well, given how Clair is naturally fast with a low attack, making her pretty reliant on her specials. Letting her refine it like that would both play to her strength and compensate for her weakness. I like it.

Caeda: now in blue? I'd be up for it, she really needs the damage that isn't just Slaying Lance Iceberg.
