Sword unit on team

Do I use Ike with +res -hp or eirika +atk -def? Hero banner only gave me an Ike and eirika out of 219 orbs so they're my only 2 sword units to choose from

Depends entirely on your team comp.

Eirikah is great out of the gate if teamed up with blade tome users. Her weapon and C skill are already perfect and with a Fortify Resistance sacred seal your Nino? will be hitting +12 per hit. She will need some inheritance to solidify her own role in the team, but Fury and TA sets both work well on her.

Ike on the other hand is a stronger cornerstone for a team. His speed is lacking compared to Ryoma, but he has enough power to shred most green mages in one blow and Hector can't do much to him either. His discant counter weapon means he can bait out ranged attackers and kill them on the enemy phase, provided they do not kill Ike on contact. For long term usage, Ike comes with a very good arena weight from his native Ragnell and Aether which is great for ranking up your reward tier.

What'd be a good build for Ike?

His default set works on him with Threaten Atk to validate Heavy Blade activating more easily. Fury and Quick Riposte/Vantage works better with a different skill from Aether. Hone-type skills are always nice for the C slot, of course, and Threaten Def or Threaten Spd can also be used if you want to. Good support skills are usually mobility ones (Swap and Reposition to get Ike up front covering your ranged units).

...Although Heavy Blade can be used with Quick Riposte or Vantage as well.
