Surtr which special to use? Bonfire/Ignis/ Aether?

Which special should i used on my Surtr. He is +10 +att -spd. Any idea they all sound so good but which is the best.

If your aim is scoring then Blue flame if you have it available otherwise go for Aether.
Normally you need a special that had 3 turns as cooldown (Bonfire or Ignis+slaying axe)if you're using it on slow tanks, as you can activate those with qr, but Surtr is a bit of a special case as anyone near 2 spaces will take 20 dmg making him able to stay away from the enemise for a bit until he is able to oneshot the enemy. I'd still take Bonfire over Ignis anyway as the massive dmg from Igniss will result in overkill most of the time and it is a bit harder to activate, also Surtr can activate bonfire in a single round of combat as there may be some cases where the enemies manage to hit him without taking the dmg from hs weapon, for example horses of character that get danced

Aether sounds good in practice but even if you could proc it in 1 round of combat, the healing isnt substantial with Sinmara working against you half the time.

sinmara shouldn't have any effect on aether. Treat foe def/res by 50% and restore hp by "{half damage dealt}". My Surtr has has 63 attack unbuff, with buff he hit he hit 67 with his c skill, not including other armor buff. The heal should still be good right? it's not base on how much hp they have left, i thought it was base on damage dealt and you get half the hp of damage dealt. or am i wrong?

I'm not sure about this but in my experience if the normal attack damage if enough to kill then aether wont heal more than like 2 hp the extra damage from aether is what does the healing so you need aether's effect to do the killing damage

Aether, Sol and Noontime all heal based on the dmg you actually deal, like if you would hit someone with 20 for 50 dmg with Aether you will heal 10hp as you actually dealt 20 dmg

So Surtr should heal for a lot of hp am i right?, Surtr c skill -4 all stat for foe and buff him +4 all stat putting him at 67 attack, then aether effect foe -50% def/res and heal for half of total damage dealt. correct?
my surtr stats are hp-57 att-63 spd-17 def-47 res-39
buff with surtr c skill hp-57 att 67 sp-21 def 51 res 43

With those calculation he should heal normally, but you have to take account that the enemies he fights will have already taken 20dmg from his weapon effect

never mind i found a old post for aether
Damage + ignore % of enemy defense = Final Damage + Heal for half of Damage. However you cannot heal for more than half if damage exceeds enemy hp
so in short weapon screw up max heal for aether
