Surtr is a God.

I legit almost soloed Gharnef Infernal with Surtr, (i'd link a video, but i tried to record it and it didn't well). I just had to heal him every so often with Veronica and had to ko about 3 or 4 units with my Lucina's. I don't think i'm ever gonna have problems with these kinds of battles ever again. I might even be able to do some abyssal maps!

He's definitely a solid unit and can put in a lot of work with just his weapon's ability. That'll help loads in the abyssal maps.

I did almost solo some abyssal maps with Sheena. You need higher mixed bulk so survive some waves of both physical and magical red foes, surtr does not have the resistance to survive. On top of that you need a lot of support from your other units, like a LOT.

Still this kind of defensive strategy is only viable for some maps, there are some where it will simply be impossible to create choke points and you will be attacked from all sides. You may need a more offensive approach with brave weapons, blade tomes, reinhardt, dancers, etc. I have finished all abyssal maps btw.
