Summoned my third Exalted Chrom.

Like there goes my 10% 5 star rate lol, you couldn't give me Ryoma? Anyway I've only been playing this game for a month so I think 3 Chromes is some sort of sign (Matt Mercer makes horse jokes in my dreams now). I feel like his base kit has good synergy but he might need a little bit of building cause his stats. Also the ivs are weird: +hp/-res, +res/-spd, and +def/-res. What's your favorite build for this guy and whose ivs would you keep?

+def-res is probably the best one, the other ones for merging or fodder for chill def( or fury if you’re desperate), I would build with bonfire or Ignis for special, swap or reposition for assist. Keep his base fury and chill def since his spd isn’t too good for desperation, run a horse buff and it’s done. Draconic aura or dragon fang would work for special too if bomfire is unavailable.
Could also build as a physical wall with 42 def with his weapon, maybe fortress def?

I would keep +DEF / -RES.
I usually run his Brashperation set, which is highly effective with horse buffs.
Sealed Falchion
Reposition
Bonfire
Fury 3
Desperation 3
Fortify Cavalry
Brash Assault

He already has high Def with a boon, and with Sealed Falchion and Fury 3, he becomes nearly invincible to most melee reds and greens with a total of 45 Def (51 with horse buffs). All this defense is especially important when Chrom activates Bonfire, since he gets about 22 extra damage (25 with horse buffs). His Res is already pretty low, so that's his dump stat.

Thanks for the advice, this looks really good. Brashperation is nice but I'm trying to build that into my Reinhardt, who will end up as the blue on my horse team. Do you think it's better on Chrome? Some may think that it's a little unnecessary on Rein and lancebreaker/b tomebreaker is a little more reasonable.

Doesn’t brash assault only work if the foe can counter? So Reinhardt would only be able to use it when fighting ranged units. To be fair, mages tend to have high resistance and would be the some of the people Reinhardt most wants four hits against, but I feel like Chrom would get more use out of the seal than Reinhardt would. Not to mention having Reinhardt take a hit to get low enough to activate brash assault without dying is gonna be tricky, while Chrom’s stats will help him survive a lot longer.
